At Hemmingway's Bistro the menu combines classic French dishes with the freshest Midwest ingredients.
The daily specials reflect the chef's love for fresh seafood. Using mostly East-coast seafood flown in from Boston daily, the chef creates dishes like wild mushroom-crusted halibut on horseradish whipped potatoes and roasted sea bass on Caussoulet beans.
There is also a Parisian seafood bar offering towers of Plateau de Fruit de Mer with fresh oysters, clams, shrimp, and lobster.

We will not be returning, or recommending HB. It was our 2nd time at the bistro - every time after attending a show across the street. Both times we felt the food lacked taste and flavor – we have had better in downtown Chicago where we live – even in Madison, WI on a weekend outing! Dishes we had: cassoulet and French onion soup (much tastier at Bistronomic. I tried the snails in a Pernod sauce – there was not a hint of Pernod! Whereas I would drive all the way from Chicago to Madison's Sardine restaurant for their mussels in a Pernod sauce. Yes, it was THAT good! The service, though friendly, was super-slow. We were not in a hurry, but we eventually had to get up and call a server just to PLACE our order for entrées. The chef is not doing a good job, and neither is the manager.

We each had a bowl of French Onion soup to warm up and then split a salad and an entree. Perfect date night, especially if you reserve a spot at the bar.

The food was delicious. Lupe, our waiter was excellent and it happened to be happy hour which was a very nice surprise! Will definitely return

Food and service never disappoint, price point makes this more of a special occasion dinner and less of a regular date night but don’t let that stop you from a great dining experience.

Everything about our lunch was wonderful! The service was impeccable and the food was beautifully presented. Do not miss the chocolate mousse for dessert!

Beautiful venue, delicious food, good service. However not sure where the communication breakdown occurred. Mentioned on OpenTable this was an anniversary occasion. In the special instructions I said it was our 50th wedding anniversary. Nothing was said to us about that special occasion.

I love Hemingway Bistro. The food is excellent. The decor wonderful. The staff is professional, helpful, courteous and want you to enjoy your time there. I know I can order alcoholic drinks which I will enjoy. It is in my mind the first place I want to bring someone to for a special occasion and I am at ease that they will be extremely happy we went there. Never have had a bad experience ever and have been there enough to know. Just enjoyed first Sunday brunch visit. A man who was leaving when we were going in said it was great for him just then.
