   I had a lovely night here but I have to say it was the least enjoyable of all the times I’ve been in Hawksmoor. This time I ended up feeling the rip off that other people have mentioned in other comments. The first cocktail was good but was too small for the price and I couldn’t really tell if it contained champagne as it did not seem to have the bubbly look. The starters and main course were great. The bottle of wine we had was at least 3 to 4 times over the price you would get it outside which did seem pretty extortionate. The wines aren’t any more than 15 pounds but you pay circa 60 at the restaurant, way too much and the bottle wasn’t anything spectacular. If anything the quality was quite poor as it gave us a pretty bad headache after dinner. The dessert, I have to say I wasn’t very impressed by them either, the pavlova seemed to be mostly meringue stuffed with ice cream and the sticky toffee pudding sunday was also nice but seemed to be recycled left over cake sponge. I like going out to places that serves excellent value for money, that’s why we chose this restaurant but this time unfortunately I felt the evening was sincerely over priced. I also have to say that individual glasses of wines are on average £15- £20 pounds so again you would almost end up paying for a whole bottle anyway. On another note, I do have to recognise that the servers and staff members were all great, friendly and continually checked that everything was ok. The music at the venue was also super enjoyable. Just a shame that there seems to be an imbalance on the prices for drinks.

   This was a lunch visit. The restaurant wasn’t full so was quieter than we have previously experienced. Service was very good. Attentive when needed but not pushy. The food was its usual excellent standard and served at a very nice pace for us. We always like visiting Hawksmoor and will continue to do so.

   The food and service were excellent. The only issue was that the drinks in the menu versus on the bill were different prices but we did not realise until after paying.

   We are regulars in Hawsmoor and this was the one and only time I have ever been disappointed. The main point of concern was my Fillet Steak that had a lot of grizzle and sinew making it extremely chewy. My son also had a fillet and his was excellent as usual…. I would like to add that I did not complain in the restaurant and that none one bothered to ask even when the majority of my steak went back on the plate. Hopefully better next time

   I made a last minute booking with my two young, very tired children as we were staying in the area whilst on holidays. The express menu available until 6pm was very reasonable (2 courses for 26 pounds) and they were flexible in adding fries to the fish for the children rather than potatoes. My steak was excellent and cooked exactly how I wanted it - better than any I have had in a while. Overall, very happy with our experience.

   The food at Hawksmoor Edingburh was incredible and the professionalism and hospitality of the staff was brilliant. A special mention to Stephen and Abby who made our dining experience amazing. Would highly recommend a meal at Hawksmoor.

   We had been treated to a voucher for £175. Five of us had the Sunday roast with 2 sides of stuffing and 2 sides of mac n cheese. We had drinks (not bottles of wine) but no starter or dessert. Our bill on top of the £175 we paid by voucher was another £175. For 4 glasses of white, a few ciders and 3 Guinness I think the drinks are priced excessively. It's a nice place but we wouldn't rush back. It's not value for money other than the roast dinner which is reasonable. A shame as staff are nice and attentive and great location. Just felt a bit ripped off in the end. We're used to eating out in Edinburgh and feel plenty other choices for far less £.
