   Everything is always excellent here. The food is creative and delicious, the beer selection is always new and exciting, and the bar has everything you could ask for. We are regulars, but came here on 1/17/25 as Haven was donating 100% of proceeds to the LA Firefighters, so just another reason to love this place so much more.

The atmosphere is warm and inviting, with just the right mix of rustic charm and modern style. It’s lively without being too loud, and the staff make the experience even better—welcoming, knowledgeable, and genuinely excited about the menu. The food is unforgettable. We started with the cornbread, which comes served in a hot skillet, drizzled with chipotle honey butter that melts right into every bite. It was sweet, savory, and downright addictive. For the main course, we couldn’t resist sharing the truffle mac and cheese. It was rich and creamy, with just the right hint of earthy truffle and a crispy breadcrumb topping that added the perfect texture. The drink menu is just as impressive. I had a refreshing take on a classic martini, while my friend tried their Old Fashioned, which was smooth, smoky, and expertly crafted. Haven feels like a treat every time you go—elevated food, great drinks, and a welcoming vibe that makes you want to come back again and again.    On New Year’s Eve it is to be expected that the restaurant will be busy. Service was slow and the bar was overwhelmed (understaffed). Ordered a Manhattan and found out that they were out of cocktail cherries. Would have appreciated a heads up. Food in general up to standard: French onion soup, burrata, chicken livers and crispy Brussels all good. The scallops special with clams did not live up to expectations for the $50 tag. Three small scallops (not diver scallops by my definition which are traditionally larger). My rib eye steak was ok but the oversized fries were grainy and not crisp on the outside. Color and texture indicated the wrong variety of potato or poor cooking technique.

   We have patronized Haven since it opened. It’s kind of disappointing, because they have an extraordinary selection of whiskeys and bourbons, but service execution is well below par. The hostess was rather rude - starting the experience off negatively. Waitress acknowledged us at table 14 minutes after seating, it took ten more minutes to get our drinks ordered. At 45 minutes in we had our drinks and the waitress finally took our food order. The size of the Octopus was not that of an entrée, charging me $26 for fewer than 4 oz of Octopus. I can remember when octopus on the menu was $16, it’s gone up $10 per plate in the last 12 months, and it’s half the size it was. Manager physically present but not mentally. He saw all this and did nothing. We do not recommend.

   Very good. We hadn’t been back for awhile but we’re excited to try some of the new menu items. We each started with the French onion soup which was delicious. My husband had the mussels and I had the lobster roll. Both were great. That and a couple do craft brews and it was a great evening out.

   There were too few staff on duty. I don’t hold it against the waiter who tried very hard. But we waited long periods of time to order and to get our food. Noise level very high.

    We made a reservation and were seated right away. Our server didn’t come over for 10 minutes to get a drink and prizes order, then we had to flag him down again to place our dinner order and get a 2nd round of drinks. Food was OK, but not amazing. A new server checked on us because our original server was on a break, then no one came again. We flagged down the original server to get our check and he informed us that he was no longer our server but would get him. We finally got someone to check us out - no manager, no apology, no acknowledgement of the cluster that we experienced. I was really excited to meet my friend for dinner at Haven and this experience convinced me to not return.
