   We all agreed that this was, quite possibly, the best meal we’ve ever had in life. No one in our party can say that they’ve ever tasted better food than what we experienced at Hav & Mar last night.

   The space is sterile, no comparison to Red Rooster. The service gets 5 stars for friendliness, but was no more than a 3, because it took forever for the main courses to arrive. The food was too similar to Red Rooster, where I love it, but I was expecting a fresh experience and a stronger Scandinavian element, since half the restaurant’s name is Swedish. Also, most of the dishes were exceedingly spicy. Maybe that represented the Ethiopian half, in which case Ethiopia conquered the place outright.

   Our waiter Claudio was fabulous. He made great suggestions for the table and everything we ordered was delicious. Portions were very good too.  I will definitely be back.

    Excellent restaurant. The food and drinks are exceptional. I decided to do the chef’s selection and was disappointed in the selections offered. I understand you cannot have everything but should really think about offerings. I have done numerous chef tasting menus, this was the least inclusive. For example, a bread basket that allowed the table to sample biscuits and blue cornbread would have been logical. Additionally, long waits between courses. In short, Food great but would have been better off ordering 4 entrees.
