    I thought the experience was great. The food was savory and delicious and quickly delivered. The bartender was excellent and the drinks were perfect. Definitely will go back when I’m in Oakland again.

    Initial visit for brunch with girlfriends and heard about the Taco Tuesday’s and brought husband back to dine with me. We loved the food and enjoyed our experience.

    Great to see a busy restaurant during the middle of the week in downtown Oakland. We all had tacos including the street tacos and the southern tacos. They were great the the street tacos having the right combination of crisp char, juice and grease. I could have used a little salsa. Southern tacos were devoured. We also had the guacamole and chips before dinner, For $15 I would expect more than a small plastic container of premade guacamole and a handful of chips. Not worth the $. I suspect you would be better ordering a side of guacamole if that's your thing. Not much flavor. The service was the real drag on the night. Drinks would take forever as would the timing between dishes. We had to hunt down our server for more drinks and food. While the vibe was upbeat and positive the timing between drinks, apps and then the main course was disjointed. Neighbors raved about the other entrees and brunch menu. If they can iron out the service and the portions for the apps they'll be in a great spot.

    Made a last-minute reservation for me and my daughter. We were greeted and seated immediately. The location of our table was a little too close to the door so they gladly moved us to a nice little alcove in the front near the window where it was warm and beautiful. Our server Lele remembered all of our requests gave really good recommendations for menu options And invited us to come back for taco Tuesday. We will be back! The chef for Sunday brunch came out and greeted us. Everything we ordered was amazing the gumbo, the catfish and waffles with peach cobbler butter, and the shrimp & grits all full of flavor and brought out in a timely manner. I even ordered some gumbo to go from my mom and she loved it. Thank you to the entire staff and owner for making Mommy Daughter brunch amazing!

    We wanted to love this restaurant. We had an early reservation on Valentine’s Day. We got seated right away and one drink came promptly. We ordered another drink, an app, sides and 2 steaks. After 40 min. the app arrived, followed by sides in 50 minutes. We were so hungry we ate everything before the steaks arrived 110 min. after we were seated. We were told the waitress was new and did not put the order in. Eventually 3 other staff came and took our order and but it did not seem to speed things up. The owner asked me not to write this and did comp one steak but it was not enough to make up for ruining our V-Day dinner. The steak was flavorful and tender and the mashed potatoes very good.

    I love Samara Southern Creations on Sunday at Haus of Chefs. And Sarah, the chef, is as wonderful as her cuisine. I appreciate that as time allows, she comes out to meet and greet her guests. My only recommendation for the venue, which is decorated very nicely, is to add some sound absorbing materials to the walls. It can get a little loud with so many customers. Good news is, everyone is flocking to this place because the food is excellent :). For customers, I recommend you make a reservation and go early. Highly recommended! :)

    Brunch with the ladies and we were not disappointed. There is so many options to choose from but we ordered the shrimp and grits with and the cat fish and grits and the gumbo pot pie. The food was so delicious and full of flavor and prepared well. A bit of a wait but it was worth it and won’t dissuade me from returning again.

    The Friday for Menu was EXCELLENT! The butterfly cocktail was delicious! I enjoyed the Oxtail Ramen and wings woth the Mac N cheese. Everything was flavored to perfection and soup satisfying! Love the entire ambiance! I shall Return for the different food features on other nights!
