Thanksgiving dinner was memorable. We ordered three of the main courses: turkey, venison, and steak. Everything was cooked to perfection and delicious. The suggested wine pairing went well with the dishes. Service was great, and the maïtre D made us feel truly at home. We were lucky to get the room with the gas fireplace--all in all a delicious and cozy experience. The restaurant made us feel like family!

The harvest of today is not the institution I recall. Quiet atmosphere and warm hospitality but the food quality and preparation was not commensurate with cost. A poached pear is a lovely thing but it does need to go through the poaching process.

Dear Daniel, Thank you for the review. I'm sorry to hear that you were disappointed with your meal. I appreciate your feedback about the poached pear and will certainly take it into consideration as we continuously strive to improve our offerings and service. We hope you'll give us another chance to impress you in the future. Best, Pamela

Irt was good to return to this Harvard Square stalwart where I dined frequently in the distant past when I resided in Cambridge. It was like revisiting a comfortable and familiar good friend's comfortable abode, but with the significant added value of really excellent food. We were greeted with courtesy at the front desk and shown to our table in the rear dining room, my favorite of the several loci one can eat here. Much has remained the same at Harvest over the years, and I was happy to note that the quality and variety of the menu offerings was as fascinating and creative as I had remembered. My dining companions and I ordered a Baby Arugula salad, the Mushroom & Miso French Onion soup, the wild Atlantic Halibut main course and two of us opted for the Pekin duck Breast entree. The soup was excellent, an intriguing melange of earthy flavors with its melted cheese atop a crouton, floating in a delicious and savory broth. The arugula was crisp and fresh, generously garnished with pine nuts. Our companion's halibut was prepared with caper berries, beer-batter crumbles, and a lovely chive beurre blanc. Our duck dishes, while not as crispy-skinned as I would have preferred, was enlivened by its accompanying sautéed honeycrisp apples, wild rice, acorn squash purée, roasted brussels sprouts, and toasted pecans - quite toothsome! Our companion opted for dessert, and seeing it made us wish we had too: a Chocolate Soufflé Torte with malt ice cream, chocolate sauce, and a dark chocolate mousse. A confirmed chocoholic, he was mightily pleased. This was a very successful, quietly elegant and civilized evening's supper, not always easy to find these days. It affirmed that we would not wait so long for a return visit. Thank you, Harvest, for maintaining your ambience and quality over all these years.

Very good food, service, ambience but $52 entree is expensive. I had venison which was very good - but there wasn’t much on the plate.

The two dishes we wished to order, mussels and the turkey club, were already unavailable at 12:30. So I ordered a burger. The patty was small, the buns were soggy, and the french fries were overcooked and soggy. Not impressed. Also, the tables along the wall are too close together. The elderly couple next to us was unwrapping their shopping ,and we had to fend off their purchases.
