   Excellent experience. We sat at the counter for the last seating of the night. Chef Yudi presented a wonderful course of quality nigiri, miso soup, and various other dishes. We loved every bite of the evening. The staff was very attentive and presented the sake and wine pairing at the perfect time with each course. I’ve had many omakase experiences in NYC and LA. The entire experience was a great value and I would highly recommend everyone in Columbus to check out Haru.

   Our server was incredible. She did an exceptional job describing everything, answered all of our questions, and gave great suggestions. The manager was also kind enough to check on us a couple times. It was extra special that the chef came out to check on us as well. The experience was really incredible and we will recommend this to anyone looking for a special experience.

   Service was good and fast. Staff seemed new but were trying their best, I imagine they’ll get better with time. They just seemed a little nervous but did their jobs well and efficiently. The fish is probably the best in Columbus and chef was very creative with flavors. Only reason my rating is so low is because the rice was slightly undercooked in every single piece of sushi (for both me and my wife). I don’t know if it was just a bad batch of rice but at $130/customer, I would expect a chef to taste everything that comes out of the kitchen and I can’t imagine that they would have thought the rice was adequate to serve at that price. Ambiance was nice but the restaurant needs little touches to justify the price (tea was served on paper napkins as coasters instead of a plate, staff didn’t clear menus off the table so the table was crowded). All of these wouldn’t be major issues if it was $30-40 for a meal but for $130/person (without the wine pairing), I’m expecting borderline Michelin star quality service and food. The meat (fish and wagyu) are good enough to justify the price if the rice wasn’t undercooked. I’m happy that Columbus is getting higher end cuisine and I think Haru certainly has the potential to fill this demand with some small changes. Serving sushi at these prices with the rice being anything but perfect is a dealbreaker though; hopefully it was just a one time thing. I’m open to coming back to Haru and seeing if that’s the case since the fish is easily the best in Columbus.

   The best sushi in Columbus by a wide margin. Everything was absolutely incredible from the service to the omakase.

   My wife and I enjoyed a delightful meal at Haru Omakase on February 15. We'd recently had a sushi omakase in Santa Barbara, prepared by a Michelin starred chef and his team. Haru Omakase compared very favorably to that meal, at under 30% of the price. Service was polite and informative. The food came out in "tours" -- I'll call them waves. A soup wave, then three waves of 3 pieces of sushi each, and then a dessert wave. Very nice. I'd gladly come back, and next time will try some of the add-ons to the basic meal.

   This was a great experience, specifically for my husband. I was along for the ride. We loved the counter seating and enjoyed being up close and personal with the chef. If you like sushi and fresh fish, this is for you. That said, our bill, including tip was $400. This included 2 cocktails and 1 beer. We also did the Premium tour, which included an extra course. Did we enjoy it? Absolutely! We would recommend this for sushi lovers, but definitely book the counter seats and expect a very large bill.

    Fantastic new omekase place! Each piece had a unique blend of flavors, and all the pieces worked together in each course. The ingredients are clearly the highest quality and the menu has been designed with care. We also really enjoyed our drinks, especially my sake gimlet, which I had never had before. Menu will rotate every 6 weeks, and we will be back!
