   Had a lot of different cuts of meats that were chewy and not very high quality. Tables are always so crowded with plates, they need bigger tables with this thousand small plate system. We did the buffet style dining, where a fix price allows you to eat any items off the menu for 90 minutes. When we got to the end we had a few plates of raw meats that we couldn’t eat anymore. The waitress told us that we will be charged for plates that we haven’t touched - even though we paid a flat rate for the buffet menu. I asked why would they double charge - but she did not have an answer. We were also given a few meats that were marinated in spicy sauce - that we definitely did not order. The messy table situation creates a very stressful dining experience, and the wanting to double charge for our order is a definite turn off. Not very pleased with our experience.

   This was my second time but for my Birthday Party of 4, it was their first time and each and every one of them had such a wonderful time! We will continue to recommend you to all of our friends.

   The food quality for the price was decent. Lots of great options. However, I don’t recommend dessert there. The chocolate lava cake tasted funny—like you could tell it was a powder mix. The mochi was powder tasting as well. The basic ice cream was the best part of dessert, but, for the money we spent it should have tasted better.

   The food was very good. The meat quality was great. There was only 1 server with a food runner we could tell and had multiple tables. We had to ask several times for drink refills and silverware. The server was very nice but overloaded. This was our first time eating here and had questions about the menu and how it worked and he was very busy did a small explanation of the menu but then had to run off to other tables. For the money we would have liked a little more service than 1 server could handle.

   Horrible service. Even I ordered A la Carte. Hire some waiters and waitresses who know how to serve customers. I won’t expect they provide Japanese hospitality. But don’t make Japanese shame. So ridiculous.

   This was our first time eating at Gyu-Kaku, we live in Raleigh but the 1-hour drive was worth it to us. We were seated as soon as we arrived. IV was our waitress and got our drink orders and explained the menu to us. We decided on the "Meat Lovers" for 2. Almost everything was great, the only thing we really didn't care for was the miso soup. The salad, sushi rolls, fried chicken and edamame were all very good. Then they brought out the meats and rice and we went to town on cooking. I only had one piece of pork that was mostly gristle, but everything was tender and juicy. And the sauces on the table gave the meats a touch of sweetness that just added to the flavor. Then the last thing was the s'mores that came with the meat lovers. IV was great, the meal wasn't expensive, and there was so much food, we could only eat half of what was brought out. This is a unique dining experience that you should try.

    Their wine selection isn’t the best. They only have one type of Cabernet which is not the best. For the amount of money you spend at the restaurant they should have a better wine selection.
