A mix up with the bookings and putting on a service charge is a joke . We didn’t pay it as it was pretty average. Wouldn’t go back there

I dined here celebrating my 50th birthday. It was a fantastic. The staff were very friendly and could not do enough for us. We booked the Prosecco brunch and our glasses were constantly topped up but this was done in a subtle way so we did not feel the staff were intruding. The food was tasty, although some guests found the poached eggs too hard. However I would highly recommend a visit. Perfect for a special occasion or just a treat!

Food was very nice. Fairly expensive for what was on offer. We went for a pre-theatre dinner early Saturday evening. Bit noisy with 2 hen nights in at the same time but made for an atmosphere.

We had afternoon tea at Grey Restaurant on Saturday pre-Mother's Day. The food was amazing however the service was poor. I am allergic to strawberries and had advised the restaurant when I made the booking, they had no record of this. We ordered afternoon tea for two - I highlighted again at this point that I am allergic to strawberries. The pots of tea arrived promptly but 40 minutes later there was no sign of our cakes so i chased this. No one came back to me to let me know how long it would take - when I chased again 10 mins later the restaurant manager came over, apologised and offered us some champagne in compensation. When the cakes arrived they had forgotten the strawberry allergy - but hastily found some raspberry jam and went to the kitchen to ask what else might contain strawberries. The setting itself is lovely and it was extremely busy with mother's day celebrations, both in twos and larger groups - plus many hen parties. The noise level was immense and we had a table of shrieking women very close by who if the waiter had been any good, should have been asked to quieten down a bit. Overall a lovely occasion, my mum really enjoyed it, the food was amazing but the staff really really need more training.

Appalling food. We had hoped to give our granddaughter a special treat, but each of our three courses was of inferior quality. E.G. apple crumble consisted of a small amount of jam and a minute piece of apple, in a pastry base with a thick layer of crumble type topping. For this atrocious meal we paid £120!
