   The Grange is my go-to breakfast/brunch experience in Downtown Sacramento for a few reasons. First, although the prices at the Grange are a bit higher than those at the typical breakfast/brunch spots in the area, the short wait times and great service completely make up for the higher prices. Second, their two-egg breakfast, French toast, and pancakes are consistently good. I can expect a great meal every time. They used to have incredible biscuits, but they no longer appear on the menu. Hopefully, these biscuits will make a return. In the meantime, I’ll have to settle for an English muffin. Third, the service is fantastic. This is the area that sets this restaurant apart from most other locations. The servers here seem to pay more attention than at different places. They check in from time to time but don’t hover. I never feel rushed here. It's worth checking out.

   We LOVE this restaurant within The Citizen Hotel, Autograph Collection. The ingredients are all fresh and well prepared and presented. Very tasty food. Excellent service!!! Are two brunches here. Wow! How to make a choice. Something for everyone. The Breakfast Burger is to die for. Smoked chicken hash- oh yeah!! Love the modern industrial using antiques but warm colors and feels cozy. The Grange is our “go to” Sacramento restaurant whether we are staying at The Citizen or hot.

   Excellent food, atmosphere, and service. We have specific diet requirements and our server (Tim) was very knowledgeable and was able to answer every question we had. Definitely will be returning!

   The Grange My girlfriend and I meticulously planned our evening around going to The Grange. Since we both enjoy gourmet food, we thought this would be a restaurant that would really be a great selection for us. My girlfriend really did her research on looking into various menus in the Sacramento area and she sought out restaurants that had been awarded by Michelin. I honestly don’t know how The Grange even made their list because restaurant 101 is: don’t keep customers waiting for their drinks. After we got sat upstairs by the hostess, our server took her sweet time visiting us. When she approached, we were eagerly ready with our drink order: polar eggspresso and thyme for passion. I stepped out and took two phone calls while we sat and waited for our cocktails. Based on the time of my first phone call when we sat, the drinks arrived 21 minutes later! This was just when we were standing up to leave. Our server noticed us putting our jackets on and offered no apology or recognition of the extremely long wait time. Lo and behold our drinks had arrived. My girlfriend is very kind-hearted and so we decided to stay, which was our second mistake. I let the server know of the 21 minute drink time and her response was, “Do you have a show to get to?” I still think her rebuttal was incredible…and not the good kind of incredible. We ordered two appetizers: pork belly & Hamachi Crudo. Both were average at best. Our entrées were the Ragu dish and truffle pasta. The Ragu came out ice cold, and the truffle pasta was flavorless and not cooked al dente. Both were delivered without an offer of fresh black pepper or cheese. They presented a white cloth for my girlfriend’s black dress and I had to request black which also took time to receive. Oh, and the best part was that when it came to re-ordering our second round of drinks, we ordered when the first were still half full and STILL had to wait several minutes with empties in front of us. How embarrassing for you, The Grange!

   We had an amazing time. Food, Service, and atmosphere were perfect. In fact, we had such a great time, we almost missed our Candlelight Concert. Our server took note of our time during seating and made sure we were closed out in time.

   6:00 pm reservation for 6. Unfortunately, local concert night… Valet was backed up a block so we diverted to local garage. We were seated upstairs which was nice, but overall service was SLOW. Don’t see our master at times for 10-15 minutes. Prime rib (off menu special) was cold and too salty for two of our party. Other main courses were great. Drinks from bar were SLOW TO ARRIVE. Overall disappointed for spending $1,000 and being presented with a check asking for more than the automatic 20%. Won’t recommend.
