When we arrived there was nobody to ask where to go so we stood for a good five minutes before we were able to ask someone, got to our table nobody to take our jackets had to put them on the back of our chairs. Had to ask for water as there was none on the table and when we asked she brought 2 glasses which because the room was warm became tepid as there was no ice in the water. The sandwich’s were fine the cakes were just okay and then we had scones which were nice my daughter had tea which had tea leaves in they brought a strainer but it was useless as the leaves went straight through so she wasn’t even able to have a whole cup of tea I had a hot chocolate but when it was brought out it was cold and had to be taken back. So overall experience was just okay not what I expected for 5 star establishment and for what we ate £100 was not good value for money

We were there to celebrate my husband’s 80th birthday with the family which ranged from 4 year old to 80 year old. The room was quiet and the service was first class,Food was brilliant.

We had no expectations, but the whole experience was fantastic. All the staff were courteous, and very much contributed to the elevated experience. The location is spectacular, and the food was delicious. Not cheap, but as a treat, thoroughly enjoyed this.

The name says it all, Grand Tea Lounge. Service was excellent and you will be left to chill throughout the afternoon, no rush at all. View - its Scotland after all - could not be better. And for those who love taking pictures of their food this is the perfect place. My thanks to all the staff at Turnberry - from the very warm welcome on the entry to the hotel to the fantastic staff in the 1906 - nothing was a bother - get it on your bucket list.

Nice view and the staff try hard but are obviously poorly trained, few in number and lack management. Grossly overpriced, poorly presented and making a decent pot of tea is a skill too far.
