   We had a lovely meal at Gioia except for our interaction with the Maitre d. The food was amazing, and the wait staff was attentive and helpful. We had a 5:15 reservation, and when we arrived and were shown to our table, my husband requested a different (open) table for two. The Maitre d said that was not possible as they were holding it for a table for four. Approximately 15 minutes later, the same Maitre d sat a party of two at the table we requested. Unfortunate action by the Maitre d.

   Food is great but attitude of the manager takes away from the experience. Too many great restaurants to go to be treated in an aloof manner.

   We love the food at Gioia! Have come a few times and every time it is absolutely delicious. Unfortunately this past Saturday, it took 45 minutes after we sat down before the waitress was able to come and take our food order.

    Second time there, first time was amazing. Cocktails were perfect, our two apps (cauliflower and prosciutto) were very tasty. The sizzling shrimp were actually only warm so by the time I finished them, they were cold. The pasta was fine. While we were there on a Saturday, our reservations were at 5:15. We were told our server was very busy, although only two other two tops were in the restaurant. If I were only reviewing the cocktails (which the bartender came and asked us), our two apps and busboys - then this restaurant would get five stars.
