   Just three of us for lunch today but surroundings were lovely and the service was perfect. Food was gorgeous, meat and vegan options both.

   Food and service were great - some dishes better than others but there could be an element of personal choice there as well

   I chose the duck salad, a £17 main course (apparently). It was more like a starter size. Not a lot of duck and a pile of crispy noodles on top that added nothing to the dish. I had to ask for a side plate to dispose of them so that I could eat the rest of the dish, and also a side order of chips so I might actually feel like I had eaten something. I did tell the waiter I was disappointed with the meal. He apologised but that was it. When the bill came I suggested they take off the chips as I only needed them because the meal portion was so small. They did. I'm not going to be rushing back unfortunately.

   Visited for lunch on the first day of a new menu. Haven’t been to The George since it changed management; very impressed by what has been achieved. Food & staff were excellent; we shall be going again, hopefully soon.

   Lovely warm welcome by the owner. We had the venison pie which was delicious with a generous serving of rich gravy. Nice ambience in the restaurant and friendly staff. Highly recommend.

   Food was excellent and they catered well for gluten free Nice touch at the end was a candle on my pudding for my birthday and a bunch of flowers which was very much appreciated Waiters and waitresses were friendly polite and efficient
