General Public is inspired by trying to imagine what an upscale English pub would be if it had the heart of an American brasserie (and was open 11 to 11). It’s also going to signal a little bit of steakhouse, but not too much. And finally, it will look behind itself at the Black Hoof, which you will see reflected in James Santon’s menu here and there. In terms of vibe, the main floor is ‘everything’s gone green’, with lush comfortable banquette seating, warm wood, and barstools designed for long conversations over many cocktails. Upstairs you’ll find a completely different space that transports you to a peachy 80s dream. Somehow these two halves make perfect sense, and complement each other in a seamless conversation, where neither wins the argument, but you really do have to see it! See you soon!

We'll be joined by Therianthropy winemaker David Eiberg on the mezzanine at General Public for a four-course, family-style dinner paired up with 6 wines, including two new releases. Seating for this event will be mixed including communal tables and counter seating. Please let us know if you have dietary restrictions or allergies when booking. Unfortunately, vegan menus will not be available for this event.

Ambience and service are great; however the menu seems to lack a bit of variety. Each dish individually was good, but I needed just a bit more veggie to add to the table (that isn't a salad covered in cheese).

Loved the Halibut. Room is lovely. Was not a fan of the broccolini. Very vinegary. English chips were very good. Seating at the bar was great, but need a footrail. Stools/chairs are too big. Very little room between diners.

First time to General Public. Great service, great food and nice vibe and decor. Parking in the area is limited so give yourself time to find a spot.
