Gene and Georgetti is Chicago's original steakhouse since 1941. This family-owned establishment housed in Chicago's third oldest building serves the finest prime-aged steaks and chops, pastas, & signature dishes invented here such as The Garbage Salad and Chicken alla Joe. Our curated wine list originates from our roots in Lucca, Tuscany, Italy - we concentrate on Italian varietals that complement our classic Italian steakhouse menu.

Securely processed credit card info is required to secure a reservation. No-shows or cancellations within 48 hrs will be charged $25 pp.
As a reminder we do have a 15 minute grace period to honor your reservation, past that time your reservation will be forfeit.

Valet parking after 3pm is $15 cash.

Our dress code is Smart Business/Cocktail Chic - you never know who you might see at G & G!

    The Thanksgiving Dinner was well below expectations. The turkey was chopped and minced with bone, fat and gristle all mixed together. There was only a choice of one side per person, so you could have dressing or potatoes but not both. One of the desserts was not available very early in the evening. Way, way over priced for the quality of the food. Very disappointing dining experience.

    Nine family members had excellent food and drinks with spectacular service. Our second thanksgiving at Gene and Georgetti! If we cannot do it at home that is the place to go.

    Thanksgiving menu was very good to choose from. Sadly to say the Turkey was not good there was all dark meat I was disappointed.

    They don’t have any sauces for steak. The roasted vegetable side was lukewarm warm at best and the carrots were hard. The homemade truffle tagliatelle was good but not amazing. Probably won’t go back.

    The one steakhouse we had on our schedule for a week in Chicago, and one we will return to. Incredible attentive service, and steaks cooked to exactly how you desire - for us its med/well which is not a fan of most steak lovers, but this caramelized char on outside whilst just pink and juicy on inside was perfection. Very approachable wine list with a good range by the glass and solid bottles under $100. Of course a fantastic and wide range beyond these price points.

    Was with a big group and changed a couple times to add more people and they were incredibly accommodating! The service was absolutely perfect too. Tradition and hospitality and overall a wonderful dining experience!

    The ambiance was great. It’s a wonderful place for family and friends to gather. The Greek Chicken and Chicken Vesuvio were too salty. The presentation was not good either. The Chicken Vesuvio looked as though it was just dropped on the plate. Our waiter was was not that talkative or helpful. He wasn’t around. We had stretch our neck and head to get his attention. This was for Saturday 5:30 3 party reservation.
