Gateau Ghost's humble beginnings trace back to the pandemic when founder Jayden Park perfected his madeleines in his home kitchen. This is where crowd favourite Madeline flavours like Matcha-Pistachio, Biscoff, and Miso were first created.

Fast forward to 2024, and we've opened the first brick-and-mortar restaurant. The space is a 3-in-1 masterpiece: a bakery, a small storefront stocked with products from local businesses, and a bistro-style restaurant with an open kitchen.

We're serving coffee, pastries, brunch, lunch, and dinner from our location at College & Dovercourt in Toronto.

Our cafe is open 7:00 am - 7:00 pm.
Brunch waitlist available from 10:00am-3:30pm, Wednesday - Sunday.
Dinner reservations 6:00pm - late, Thursday - Saturday.

We accept reservations for our dinner service three weeks in advanced and require a credit card to book.

Entire party must be present to be seated.

One of the best dinners we’ve had in a while! You have to try the Kimchi French Onion soup and short rib! Cant wait to come back!

Great Vibes all around! Highly recommend the espresso martini, was one of the best I've had! The stand out food items for us were the French onion kimchi soup, short ribs and toffee pudding. Everything else was also really good. Will definitely be going back, and am excited to also try their brunch.

Had a great evening! Ambiance was welcoming, relaxing and intimate. Staff were friendly and energetic, and well versed at recommendations. Blueberry Matcha Highball was probably our only “meh” moment. It’s an acquired taste thing. Highlight was definitely the cabbage “Small Plate”….Could have it everyday! Highly recommend!! “Large Plates” were well portioned and flavourful. Desserts were fun and not overly sweet. Tiramisu Brownie was heavenly! Cortado and Salted Caramel Flat White finished the night off on a positive. Definitely give them a try. It’s a small cozy restaurant, but doesn’t lack in fares. 4.5/5 💫

I had high hopes for this restaurant and was so excited to try it. My girlfriend and I came for dinner and ordered the shrimp toast, arancini, cabbage salad and steak with mochi potatoes. I enjoyed the shrimp toast and arancini however the salad and steak was disappointing. The steak was medium rare however, the cut had tendons in it and was way too chewy that I had to spit it out. The service was great and enjoyed the atmosphere but won’t be coming back.

Cute space, loud and tight so be mindful of your party size. Had coat check which was nice. Came here with my partner for my birthday and booked specifically that it was my birthday but the waitstaff didn’t know or care. Food ordered: shrimp toast, French onion soup, miso cabbage, shirt rib, steak, matcha highball, aperol spritz and espresso martini. The short rib and steak were a little too salty. The French onion soup, shrimp toast, and mochi potatoes (side to the steak) were phenomenal. Amazing cocktails as well, best aperol spritz I’ve had in a long time. May come again for dinner and to pick up morning to go, unsure if we will return for dinner.

I’ve been to Gateau Ghost multiple times for brunch and coffee, always with good experiences. Dinner was good—the steak was flavorful, and the Shrimp Toast was as tasty as ever. The cabbage was oddly cooked—charred with umami miso and almond slices for contrast, though the center was completely raw. When we mentioned it, the server kindly checked with the chef, but we got a firm rebuttal that didn’t make sense. The table next to us overheard and shared the same puzzled reaction, which was funny in the moment. The dauphine mochi potatoes were an interesting concept, but rather than warm and stretchy they were lukewarm with a rubbery texture.  The rest of the meal was excellent, but the chef’s response stuck with me.

We celebrated Valentine’s Day at GG and had an amazing experience. The staff are so friendly and the vibe feels upscale while still being relaxed. The food all had a unique flavour that worked so well. This is going to be somewhere in our constant rotation for date night
