   Tasting menu was excellent! Our servers Nicholas & Emma were friendly & attentive and gave good wine recommendations. It’s a must experience whenever in Old Montreal.

   Unforgettable New Year’s Eve at Garde Manger Our New Year’s Eve at Garde Manger was nothing short of extraordinary. From the moment we stepped inside, the cozy, lit fireplace ambiance set the stage for a magical evening. The food was sensational—every dish a testament to fresh, bold flavors and thoughtful preparation. The seafood platter was a standout, with oysters and razor clams so fresh they felt like a taste of the ocean, and the main courses were perfectly crafted to delight the senses. The dessert, though simple, was a delightful way to end such an amazing meal. The service was impeccable, with staff who made us feel truly cared for, ensuring the evening flowed seamlessly. As the countdown approached, the room buzzed with excitement. The midnight celebration was electric, a joyful moment that brought everyone together to welcome the New Year. Garde Manger didn’t just give us a meal—it gave us an experience. It was the perfect way to start the year, and we can’t wait to return!

   It's a very nice restaurant in the old port of Montreal. The staff was awesome and made us feel very welcomed. Can't say enough about how lovely they were. We opted for the four-course menu. We were a little disappointed that they didn't offer a wine pairing option. While the waiter made some suggestions on the wine the first wine was great the second was just okay. The fish here was delicious. The fresh seafood starter was wonderful and the salmon was perfection. The trout was good but not necessarily a standout. The salad they served us along with a carrot side dish was exceptional! Yes, exceptional! The Dessert course was a miss in my book. We were served something that tasted like a cinnamon roll with a scoop of ice cream and the "cinnamon roll" thing tasted as it had been reheated in the microwave thus burning the sugar within the dessert. The other dessert was a Profiterole that was filled with gooey, gloppy stuff that had very little flavor. I would recommend the restaurant with others just for the staff alone.

   First of all, there was an overwhelming odor in the restaurant that lingered on us throughout the evening. The main courses were quite underwhelming in terms of flavor. Honestly, we were disappointed. Apart from the dessert, we didn’t find anything particularly impressive. Overall, the price-to-quality ratio was quite poor.

   We sat at the bar. Laurel our bartender and server was fantastic gave great recommendations, abs was lovely to talk too. We loved the octopus appetizer and duck main. The music and ambiance was perfect for our first night

   We enjoyed our dinner to the fullest. It was a little hard to find since the restaurant does not have a sign which is an intentional decision apparently. However, we liked this speakeasy vibe with no big crowd trying to get in waiting for the last minute cancellation.
