Mia Francesca features the zesty, earthy cuisine of Rome and the surrounding areas of Tuscany, Umbria, and Lazio. It was one of the first restaurants in Chicago to encourage the lively art of dining with a contemporary, casually sophisticated trattoria ambiance, simple, rustic cooking, friendly service, and fair prices.

Waiting for a table at the beautiful antique bar is part of the charm of Mia Francesca. The plush upstairs dining room and lounge can be reserved for private events, as can the more intimate coach house tucked away behind the restaurant. In the summer, al fresco dining is also available on a charming cobblestone terrace.

    We had an excellent dinner this evening. The food was terrific, and the wait staff was well-informed and helpful. We celebrated a birthday and a singing waiter sang happy birthday to us in Italian. Wonderful!

    We had a great experience at Francesca’s!! Creative and tasty cocktails to start. Bread service with delicious infused olive oil. Focaccia di Recco is a must!! Beef carpaccio was wonderful, mussels and homemade pasta as well. We finished with tiramisu and of course espresso martinis!! Mario our server is guilty for all this amazing experience, his recommendations and timing was just perfect. Will be back soon!!

    Our plan was to have turkey dinner at this location. Unfortunately when we arrived for our 5:00 PM reservation, we were informed they were out of the special turkey dinner. Disappointed to say the least. We ordered off the menu and overall the dishes we selected all turned out to be good including the appetizers. The restaurant itself is a nice setting. modern chic. Table service was good. Everything came out timely.

    The service needs work. We waited a long time just to get water, then bread, the same. The music is a pounding sound rather than actual music appropriate to the ambience. My pasta was too Al dente. Other than that, the energy is happy and friendly. I’m sure they’re still ironing out the kinks, but these things shouldn’t happen.

    First time here celebrating my 77th! Great food, service & an opera singer wishing me a Happy Birthday. The server & the manager were very attentive. We will return!
