Our award-winning Founding Farmers DC flagship restaurant opened in 2008 just three blocks west of the White House on Pennsylvania Avenue. Open 365 days a year, our team is passionate about crafting dishes and drinks from scratch with high-quality ingredients from farmers and suppliers we know and trust.

    Went for Christmas dinner. Foggy Bottom was one of the two locations that had the a’ la carte menu which was why I picked the location. It was a little crowded waiting for our reservation time and they were behind but we expected that and didn’t mind. There were three of us and we all were happy with our meals. We had wings and the corn bread skillet for appetizers. The wings were really good. I’m not a fan of corn in my cornbread but it still tasted good. I had fried shrimp with fries, coleslaw and corn bread. The shrimp and fries were really good. The coleslaw was a little blah. Our other two diners had a platter with ribs, cheeseburger sliders and fried chicken and coleslaw. They both loved theirs but also were not fans of the coleslaw. The staff was friendly and professional and fast. We enjoyed talking to them and the two different sets of patrons sitting beside us. We had a great Christmas dinner despite it not being an “traditional” Christmas dinner and would come back again.

    Even though we had a reservation we still had to wait around 30minutes. Then we were placed next to a shelf with heavy jars and items which could easily land on our heads especially injuring our children. The food seemed rushed and not on par to the usual quality. Lesson learned for next time.

    5:00 pm reservation for 3 was 40 minutes delayed. Seemed like walk-ins had preference. Food was tasty but portions small, especially for the cost. Maybe because of holiday or some other reason, I would think twice before returning.

    My family has been doing Christmas dinner at Founding Farmers (DC) for the past several years. This will be the last time we do so. We had a 4 :15 reservation and had to wait 45 minutes to be seated. The restaurant was overcrowded, and extremely loud. The experience has gotten word each year and this year was the last straw.

    I was sadly mistaken by making a reservation I would avoid having to wait to be seated. My total wait time was 59 minutes. The entire scene before getting seated was chaotic. My waiter was great but the food was tasteless and warm. My first drink tasted like juice, but I send was a slightly better. Side note, avoid the catfish because by the looks and taste of it, I suspect it was tilapia.

    I've eaten here twice during my DC visit. Both times, the food and service were top notch! On Christmas Day, there was a wait past reservation time; however, you all did a fantastic job in getting people seated. The crowd assured me that you all are a trusted establishment. The hostesses were calm & polite...even when i witnessed one of the guest were rude. I will visit again.

    It was Christmas dinner. There were 5 of us with reservations for 2:30PM. We were seated between 3:30 and 3:45PM. The restaurant was full. Once seated, service was excellent and the food was quite good. Overall, the kitchen staff did a great job considering the number of people that needed to be served. We would return for a holiday meal again.

    Celebrated one of my best friends Christmas birthday. There are a lot of people around, but we were able to sit at the bar and have a mimosa and some beignets while we waited for our table. we were seated at our table about 15 minutes past our reservation time. Food was great, and the service was great. The hostess made sure to get us a table as soon as they could. Excellent service.
