   Every year my family and I get together for my grandfathers memorial. Despite the restaurant being extremely busy, our server Mel was very attentive and patient with us and the food was AMAZING! My granddaddy would’ve loved it!

   It was my first time visiting this restaurant and it won’t be my last, the ambience and atmosphere of the place was nice, I would definitely recommend going

   It’s just not the same, prices are higher and that’s fine if the food would have still been good. Peach Cobbler was watery and peach’s were not cooked. The fried green tomatoes were cut in different sizes and many were too thick. Macaroni and cheese was dry along with the flavorless sweet potatoes. Oh, the catfish was really good but the hush puppies were hard and the fried chicken was salty. Please keep in mind this was our 2nd visit in 24 hours and we were thinking that Thursday night was just a bad one off, but unfortunately, Friday night was worse than Thursday . We fly in to Los Angeles just to relax at LA live and have dinner or lunch at this restaurant. It was extremely disappointing, It’s time for us to find another spot with good food and consistent preparation and service.

   Fairly good food, good portions. We had the fried catfish and oxtail main course. The fried catfish was fried to perfection, the crust was excellent, but was a bit on the salty side. The oxtail was good, but could be just a bit more tender. It had a bit of a bite to it, some may prefer it this way, I prefer it to be closer to fall off the bone tender. Sides, grits were excellent, collard greens were alright bc I prefer vinegar as an option rather than by default in the greens, and crusted okra should be fried. I would come back if I was craving southern food Btw, I grew up in the south.

    This place is vibing! Great music playlist and we went just before a Lakers game. Everyone was happy and it can get loud! Food was great and delicious!
