   My wife and I had the calamari starter. My wife had the roast belly pork, I had roast beef. The quality of the food was first class. My wife cannot have food onto which butter has been directly applied, and this was resolved immediately without any issues. The service was quick and the waitress very attentive and friendly. The roast at The Filly is by far the best in Brockenhurst.

   Second time visiting but a little disappointed this time. Meals were warm and not hot as if they had been sitting for a while. We ate at 12:00pm before it was busy. No one asked how our meal was during main course. Perhaps it was an off day but for the reasons given I declined the discretionary 12.5% service charge.

   We are regulars at Filly Inn and find the food and service to be excellent We took friends for the first time on Saturday evening, they loved it and are planning to return

   We asked a couple of questions about the menu and our server didn’t know the answers. more in house training perhaps would be helpful. Fresh menu cards also would be nice, ours was scruffy looking. However we did enjoy ourselves and we thought The Filly was a lovely place. We will recommend it.

   Wasn’t a great meal. The roasts were cold and we really begrudge having to pay extra for gravy. There were hardly any vegetables with the roast dinners either. Service was fine but not that welcoming or smiley.

    The Filly Inn felt so promising but sadly failed to deliver. It was booked as part of my partner's 50th birthday celebration (weekend away). It looked perfect for a country pub evening with good food. Unfortunately, there were a few things that just did not meet expectations. A wobbly table, easily fixed? However, it was met with frustration from our waitress - although, in fairness they did let us move to another spot. The food was 'okay' although not accurately described. We had calamari to start (thankfully shared as it was quite expensive). It stated miso dip (it was just mayonnaise) I chose the Korean Burger with Asian slaw (which I love and make at home). My food arrived and there was no Asian slaw as described. When asking the waitress where it was, she explained it was the iceburg lettuce and red pepper in my burger. This is not Asian slaw! The dessert was good though...so I can recommend the chocolate Valice! The service from the youngest waitress was really bad. Dumped cutlery on the table at the edge, no interest or guidance when choosing meals, minimal eye contact, no pleases, thank yous. It honestly felt like we were a hindrance. Such a shame for what promised to be a lovely evening. It made it worse as we had a direct comparison from the evening before, where we were at Thai Brittannia and the food and service there was excellent!
