As a bar-focused restaurant, we craft garden-to-glass cocktails served alongside Chef Joe Zobel's modern American cuisine inspired by West Sonoma County's abundance of biodiversity. Along with our menu of innovative and delicious dishes, the bar features house-made beer and spirit-free elixirs, as well as locally-sourced and small-production wines by the glass. Fern Bar's airy, plant-filled space can be found within The Barlow, Sebastopol's popular shopping and dining destination. Our outdoor dining room is covered with a heater next to every table, it still gets cold so bring a layer.

    First time there and was truly impressed. Service was friendly and efficient, the menu was diverse to satisfy a variety of appetites and the ambience was comfortable and warm. Every plate we had was visually beautiful and extraordinarily tasty. The wine, cocktail and mocktail selection was ample. Will be back!

    Just a beautiful menu of unexpected things. Incredibly delicious umami bowl. Crazy kimchi pancakes. A mashup of all sorts of flavors. Really wonderful.

    Fantastic brunch. After a couple of tasty cocktails we had an order of the Baked Eggs (very good with a nice hit of cardamom) and the Spam and Eggs (with the "spam" being a very good bacon sausage). Finished the meal with an order of beignets served with an apple butter sauce. Ourstanding! Great service, decor...everything! An oasis on a 100 degree day! We'll be back for further culinary adventures! Highly recommended!

    I really appreciate Fern Bar’s carefully written menu because it has a labeling system that identifies Vegan, Celiac safe, Vegetarian, Gluten Free and Dairy Free menu choices. The cocktails are a highlight and we always start with a drink. We like the lively feel of the place and the mix of patrons.

    Cool bar with relaxing natural feel. Num num wings were excellent as was the trout although a bit pricey for the portion. Cocktails were tasty and refreshing.
