We spent 346 cad on a sick joke. While still dining, we had an intense stomach pain and needed to rush to the restroom. To make things worse, this restaurant doesn’t have its own restroom, so we needed to go to the restroom located in the hotel, which were closed for cleaning for over 30 minutes. Our son requested additional finger sandwiches that were denied by our waiter under the excuse that they prepare a limited amount of food earlier during the day for the afternoon tea. I guess this justifies how we ingested this terrible bacterial toxin since their food isn’t freshly prepared. Any other reputable afternoon tea, freshly prepares the food and replenishes the finger sandwiches as per the guest request. Stay away from this place if you want to avoid the risk of ingesting contaminated food.

The food presentation was exquisite. Scones were lovely, the darker one was a bit dry and crumbly but the lighter one was great! The croissant was a little dry and harder than expected but the filling was very yummy. I’m glad that the sandwiches had the variety of bread but fillings could be heartier. The candied salmon was lovely. Sitting by the window was wonderful, as was the service. Emily, our server was delightful. Music was perhaps a bit loud (especially given that seniors have hearing aids and are trying to navigate their hearing needs). Overall, we are very glad we came. Prices are not for the faint of heart!

The tea sommelier was so friendly and knowledgeable. The courses were great and they were so accommodating of my gluten intolerance.

By far, the worst afternoon tea I've ever had and I urge you to take your business elsewhere. 1) We made a reservation in advance of our Banff trip and we were seated in front of a wall. 2) Service was painfully slow. Took ages to place our order, receive drinks, food, and the bill. 3) Worst of all was the food. I had the vegan afternoon tea, if you can even call it that. Lazy and bland are the only words that come to mind. For the savory items, you have melon, tomatoes in a bowl, chopped potatoes on an endive leaf, and a hummus and cucumber sandwich that tastes like absolutely nothing. The "scones" and dessert items were once again bland, chewy, and tough to even cut/bite into. Husband had the regular afternoon tea which was also terrible. With tip, our total was $328 plus an additional $40 for parking. You're paying for the name, and the name only, for this establishment. Speaking of the establishment, the interior is extremely outdated and rather dingy feeling. Biggest waste of time and money.

We were three ladies celebrating two 50 year milestones. The first was our reunion of a time before where we all met and worked and started our “responsible” adult lives in Banff. The second but more important celebration was 50 years celebrating being a Canadian Citizen. What better way to celebrate than Afternoon Tea at the Chateau Lake Louise on beautiful sunny snowy cold day. Ross was our server and he was masterful and convivial and the afternoon melted away. I need not elaborate on the food other than “WOW.” And thank you to all.

It was absolutely amazing. Food was beautiful and tasted so delicious. The wait staff recommended a sparking wine that was a perfect pairing with the food. The view of Lake Louise was breath taking.
