   We love Exile and usually have a good experience, however today was better than good, the food was hot and cooked perfect and our server Jennifer was outstanding. If I had to suggest an improvement it would be to ask if the music could be turned down. It’s very difficult to have a conversation because of the high volume.

   We were extremely disappointed with our experience last night. We kept hoping each plate would get better, but unfortunately, each one was worse than the last. The street corn was tasteless and was nothing like a Mexican street corn that is full of flavor, the wings were overly gooey and also lacking flavor and for $20 is absolutely absurd, my mushroom risotto was a soggy mess, and my husband's braised beef was dry and flavorless to which he compared to “a meal you get at a wedding”. Our server however was great and the only savior for this review. He was both helpful and accommodating and very kind. I will add that my blueberry mocktail was also quite good! We are large supporters of local business but this experience makes it hard for us to want to return. :(

   It was our first visit to the Exile and we will definitely be going back. It was a lovely experience from start to finish.

   The food was not satisfactory, nor was the service. Honestly, the food was severely overpriced; it lacked fresh ingredients, especially the salad, as it was slimy. Service was mediocre at best. Due to this experience, I didn't tip. The waitress walked away without a word, somewhat pouty because she didn't receive a tip for the less-than-satisfactory service.

   Service was very slow. Meals not great. We have had better food on previous occasions. Cod dish which was a special was very disappointing.

    Exile should be a must on your list of places to dine. Food, ambience and the staff are all top notch…one of the best spots downtown St. John’s has to offer. Do yourself a favor and check it out…
