My wife and I ordered the veggie sampler with fish and then the lamb tibs. The food was delicious and we really enjoyed our experience!

Good experience, food was very good and servers helpful with first time Ethiopian food clients! Restaurant very pleasant but got a little noisy as it filled up later in the evening. Recommend the lamb tibs, lovely meat!

Fried fish quite small and somewhat overcooked/ dried out "Shank of lamb" not a shank - but a small portion of not very tender cubes of meat Service charge is added to the bill; be careful to note that the tip is not at your discretion - but required. A redeeming feature: vegetable assortment nicely done with intersting flavors Overall not a great value. We have better deals - and better Ethiopian food - right here in Nashville

I gave this place a 2nd chance because a houseguest wanted to try Ethiopian food and Ethiopic was convenient and nicer than a couple of "holes in the wall" on H Street. I ate there soon after it opened a long time ago and was dissatisfied with the tough beef ribs and excessive prices (at that time). I have eaten at many Ethiopian restaurants before Ethiopic and since my first visit there. I decided it was acceptable to try again. We ordered the vegetable sampler and the beef and poultry sampler for 3 of us. The first bite of beef that I took was gristle. What? No change in 10+ years? Moreover, the vegetables were much less seasoned than elsewhere, with no Ethiopian specialness, except for the collards. At EVERY other Ethiopian restaurant, the server brought a plate of injera with the platters. At Ethiopic, ours did not, The food sat cooling on our table while we tried to get a few bites with the blank spaces between the foods. The server returned to the receptionist podium, then dealt with other guests, even as I signaled that we needed injera. I was halfway to the kitchen when I saw her coming with it. So they had their 2nd chance. It was their last with me.

Ethiopic is my favorite Ethiopian restaurant, and a favorite restaurant overall. Delicious food, good value, kind servers. We went at 4pm for an early, quiet dinner.
