About this restaurant

  • Good for special occasions
Seasonal Italian Restaurant. Focused on Handmade pasta, bread and pizza. We get all of our products as locally sourced as possible.

Why they're an Icon

Executive chef: James Trees

From the OpenTable editors: When James Beard-nominated chef James Trees opened Esther’s Kitchen in 2018, he helped put the Arts District on the city’s culinary map. Now in a stylish new space with an open kitchen and whimsical animal wallpaper, the refined Italian spot still turns out the same wood-fired sourdough pizzas and knockout pastas (get the rigatoni carbonara with snap peas) that made it an instant Vegas classic.

Will be back for sure. Hosted a birthday party for my husband. Eight people in a comfy, quiet corner booth. The waiter was excellent and quite knowledgeable. Went above and beyond for those with dietary constraints. The food, including the homemade sourdough bread was quite excellent. Cannot recommend enough.

Absolutely fantastic food, with interesting takes on some Italian classics. Wonderful service as well. Very much worth the trip off the strip if you’re visiting.

The food is truly a unique take on Italian.....the tweaks they have made to traditional dishes make them so unique. for example, my chopped salad had hot pepper slices in it that gave it a zing that forestalled needing to add pepper. My colleague had the beet salad, and again, it was unique with complementary flavors. The lasagna was oven baked so that they noodles were crisp and not some soggy mess drowning in tomato sauce. Each layer had either mushrooms or shredded meat. The white sauce was more of a bechamel that surrounded the lasagna so one could dip the bite into it. My colleague has the mushroom pizza.......crust homemade and sourdough toppings, sauce and herbs blended into one of the most unique pizza flavors I have ever tasted. For salad and entree, both of us ate for under a $100, which for fine dining is a steal! Make sure to make reservations, as the place was FULL and non-reservations had a long wait.

They refused to cut a sandwich into 3 pieces because the chef wanted to “maintain the integrity of his food”

Absolutely incredible in every way! The sourdough bread is a must with the basil ricotta spread. The pistachio gelato was creamy and perfect. Pasta- impeccable! The service was OUTSTANDING. We are only in town for 3 days and we want to go back tomorrow again.
