Empire Steak House, conveniently located at 237 west 54 street near Broadway in New York City, showcases modern décor in a classy, but trendy atmosphere. The all-white marble bar and sprawling dining room provide an additional air of sophistication. While Empire's steaks are acclaimed for its famous dry-aged porterhouse for two, the rest of the vast menu is equally stellar, featuring a wide range of fresh seafood such as 4-to 5-lb lobsters, Chilean Sea Bass, Salmon, Yellow Fin Tuna, towering seafood platters, and much more. The eatery offers a highly selective wine list and features many of California's most sought-after vintages. The Zagat rated restaurant is owned and operated by the Sinanaj family. The Sinanaj's success dates back to their first restaurant opening of Empire Steak House in 2010. Either the reviews on OT are BS or they had a terribly off night. Service was awful and food was equally bad. Wife’s Caesar salad had very little dressing. Lobster Bisque was missing the lobster and bisque. It tasted more like seafood stock with some tomato sauce. Wife’s lobster was overcooked. My steak was supposed to be 8 ounces. It was more like 5-6 and was horribly overcooked. The table next to ours had filets that were horribly undercooked. The best part of dinner was the sides. There are far better steak houses in NYC. Shame on me for buying the review hyped on OT and ignoring the other better steak houses in NYC. Won’t make that mistake again

Reservation was for 7:00 pm and we weren’t seated at until 7:45, which we were fine with. Steak was excellent. $20 Ceasar salad tasted like salad out of a bag. Side of mushrooms were bland.

Food was great. Service was great but slow. We were in at peak and they had at least 8 huge parties/ tables. Par for this time of year in the city. Will go back ….but not at peak if on a schedule.

Well it was a great experience until the waiter brought the bill and without telling us included gratuity and put the documents in a way that it showed it wasn’t included, requesting 20-25% tip…. My wife and I are restaurants connaisseur we ordered 2 filets mignon and a bottle of premier crus… it was clear to me that the intent was to « fool » us in giving twice the gratuity Unfortunately a great night was destroyed by this and even thought we had a great night we will never go back there and… not recommend this restaurant to any one

My friend and I ordered the $255 wagyu tomahawk. It was cooked to perfection and huge! Certainly enough for 3-4 people. Albert the host was very attentive. Waiters were as well. Will definitely return soon

The waiters were more worried about clearing and setting up new tables then tending to the service of the people they were serving. It took us a while to get our menus to get our cocktail menus and then when we ordered the food came, and it wasn’t the best. The salad was onion heavy and the lobster bisque was more tomato based.
