We tried this restaurant for the first time last night. What an utter disappointment. In a near empty restaurant (about six tables at about 7:30 PM), it took almost an hour to receive our entrees (with no one paying the slightest bit of attention that we were sitting there without food while others that arrived after us were served). When our entrees did arrive, my grilled chicken was so overcooked and dried out that it was practicably inedible. Moreover, the chicken had been pounded flat WITH the bones in it so that the bones where cracked and sticking into the meat. I have never seen a preparation like that in my life (and I am a fan of Greek food). Apparently, one of our entrees had been mistakenly given to another diner and my chicken was placed under a heat lamp for more than 30 minutes while they "figured out the mystery." They did take the chicken off the bill and offered us a free drink, which I appreciate. However, I was not there to get a free meal that had to be thrown in the garbage; I was there to pay for and enjoy a good meal. Despite this, the bill was still more than $100 for two people and I had to get a burger afterwards. I would imagine there are a 100 cooks that work in quick-serve Greek restaurants around Las Vegas that are far more competent than the rank amateurs that work in this kitchen.

What a delightful experience. We were warmly greeted at the door and promptly seated. I requested their sparkly wine and was offered a “taste” before officially ordering in the event that I did not like my choice. A generous serving of warm bread quickly followed. The menu is varied and made it difficult for me to choose. I asked that they order several options for me. They started with what I will call a squash blossom. It was beautifully fried zucchini petals in a whipped feta dip. Awesome. Crisp and light with a nicely flavored dip. Next was a warm braised octopus served with a pickled onion vinaigrette. Tender and tasty!! Although we are experiencing winter, their tomatoes were ‘summer’ ripe and flavorful as witnessed both in the “Greek salad and the grilled tomato feta appetizer. The shrimp spaghetti was the only dinner entree ordered. The pasta was perfect al dente complimented with very flavorful and tender shrimp. To finish off the meal we again asked that they surprise us. A “custard” resting on a sweet string phyllo bed was a delightful end to the meal. All the dishes were of generous size and could be easily shared. I highly recommend this overlooked urban restaurant. The staff friendly and knowledgeable, the decor very tasteful, and the food very fresh and beautifully plated.

We (2) arrived a little early and were seated quickly. Server was prompt and took our drinks and apps order; efficient but with no hint of personality. She seemed as thought she didn't want to be there. Bread was just ok, olive oil was good w nice peppery spice flavor. Spanikopita was nice but just ok. We also had Saganaki cheese, which was very good, but without brandy flamming. Perhaps presentation was simply Elia's way. I had the sea bass grilled and it was very goooood. Maybe I didn't understand the menu or server, but I thought it would be baked in a salt crust. Regardless it was so good I would order it again. Seat #2 only had the avgolemono soup, however there was not even a hint of lemon??? This was the most curious thing. Asked for lemon wedges, which were happily provided, we squeezed them into the soup and it went from blah to outstanding. No wine list was offered ???? and wine by the glass was expensive. The dining room is very echo-y and loud. Maybe because it was Saturday night, and there was a table of 5 next to us who had obviously been overserved and were very loud. After they left, the dining room noise level went waaaayyyy down. Oddly management didn't ask them to tone it down. Overall it was a good dining experience, despite the noise level, and we'll probably go back.
