   We were coming from the valley to have a Valentine’s Day dinner after seeing their 3-Course dinner option for two. Seemed like a great deal and we loved coming here the first time so a great incentive to come back. We made our reservations for 7:00 initially but we were running late so decided to switch our reservation to 7:45 so we didn’t arrive late (we ended up getting there at 7:15). Long story short, we should’ve kept our original reservation because we ended up waiting for an hour and didn’t sit down at our table until 8:30. Granted it was very busy for the holiday but it seemed like they were overbooked. Everyone was running everywhere, our server god bless her, she did her best with the amount of people there. We didn’t leave until 10pm and that was because we asked for our check right after our entree came out. Listen we love the food here and the ambience. But next Valentine’s Day I would skip coming later in the evening if you have plans afterwards. You will be there for at least 3+ hrs. Any other day, DEFINITELY get the raspberry margarita blended.

   Fabulous 3 course Valentines meal. We took home more than we ate. Good value.

   The restaurant is old and a bit dingy. There was a portable air conditioner being used to blow in air. It was placed against a wall with a vent hose going up about 9 ft. The carpet was well worn and the walls looked dull. Our server was very good to us. The food was okay. The chips came out warm and the salsa was fine. We ordered chicken fajitas and a combination plate. The chicken fajitas were dry. The taco on the combination plate tasted burned because the tortilla was deep fried overcooked. The enchilada was lacking in cheese and looked like it was mostly sauce. The beef portions in both the taco and enchilada were disappointing. The chile relleno was the tastiest item. The rice and beans were average. The deep fried ice cream was a single scoop and we finished it up quickly. Overall, the deep fried foods tasted over cooked and lacked flavor. If it hadn’t been for the gift card we would not have dined at El Torito. The price value was average, but the specials were a better value.

   The birria is better than when we had it 3 days ago. Should have more selected wines. I feel bad for our waiter. She was alone.

   It was a good experience overall. Our server was amazing. The food was good and fresh. A couple people working could use some customer service skills. My wife had some plastic in her food and I witnessed a lady digging in the food with her hands but hey it’s a buffet. Can’t control everyone. Overall it was good.

   We always enjoy our dinners at El Torito. They were having a special for chicken fajitas for 10.99 (normally around 20). Very good value and excellent service.

    Upon arrival, we were warmly greeted by hostess and immediately seated. Server promptly greeted us and we were able to get our beverages and start our trips to the buffet. Wonderful selection and churro pancakes suggested by the server completed our experience.
