We were sat fairly close to the door which wouldn’t have been a problem if the door stayed shut when closed. This led to me and another diner on a separate table having to regularly get up and close it as it was absolutely freezing with it open. We then asked if we could move tables but the waiter said that it wouldn’t be possible as they were fully booked despite there being empty tables in the back where it was much warmer. It then took 30 minutes for our order to be taken. Despite no mention on their website when booking we had only the option of ordering off the Valentine’s Day set menu. After waiting 30 minutes for our order to be taken and another 30 minutes spent waiting for our food we then realised the waiter had forgotten to put our order through to the kitchen. We were given a small bottle of sake as an ‘apology’. After an hour of waiting our food finally arrived. The ‘valentines set menu’ consisted of a starter, sushi platter, sushi rolls, a main and a dessert. We were given all our food and once with almost no room for us to move on the table, this also meant that by the time we had enjoyed our starters and sushi our mains were completely cold. While the small amount of food we did in enjoy was great there was simply too much food for just two people. We then saw others being served items that were not on the set menu and on the regular menu. This was a shame as if we could’ve order off the regularly menu like we planned the food would have been much more enjoyable. Too add to the already frustrating meal, both a sushi roll and the dessert were never given to us. By this point me and my girlfriend were frustrated, freezing and just wanted to leave. While the waiter added a small discount of £12 off of an £140 bill to our meal for our ‘troubles’ it was nowhere near enough considering we did not receive 2 courses, the food was cold and we were cold. Overall a very disappointing night. Overpriced and with a poor layout I would not recommend going here.

The food was really good and fresh, the ambience was very modern and light. The waiter suggested the Manhattan for a drink, and it was spot on the best drink I've had in a long time. Will definitely come again.

Being a Japanese place, there is no soba udon ramen. So I won’t consider this place to be a Japanese

Good meals and ambiance. The menus could have looked nicer (not dirty) for the price we were paying

Food was great - inventive and well presented. The atmosphere is very cold though, with harsh lighting - comes so close to being a fun inviting place but just misses the mark in the evening in terms of decor and ambience - but do go for the food - it’s knockout!

Beautiful sushi rolls, crudo, and sashimi along with well-made izakaya choices including tempura, gyoza, bai buns (fried chicken!) and an outstanding and satisfying kimchi rice bowl with a perfect egg. Service is attentive and kind and the room is modern and spacious. Delicious food, well priced! We really enjoyed our dinner before a concert at the Barbican.
