Nestled in the serene beach town of Encinitas, our California Bistro and Natural Wine Bar offers a mix of traditional Spanish flavors with a modern Mediterranean twist, complemented by an exquisite selection of natural wines. Menu favorites include the Maitake Mushroom toast and tahini "aioli", our Green Chile Burger with gruyere cheese, and our locally sourced blue fin tuna crudo with citrus vinaigrette. We play a mix of Brazilian funk, late 90's hip-hop, and French pop all through our vintage Marantz receiver and JBl speakers. Our dimly lit cozy restaurant is ideal for date nights and post-surf hangs.

Food was solid. A little salty but nice combo of flavors beyond the typical. Love the forays of creativity. The lamb rib chops were quite good - quality meat and well cooked to med rare. But the dish sung because of the minted chili inspired sauce. Well done. Sea bass also perfectly cooked. Good portion size and a citrusy complimentary sauce was spot on. Wine list was adequate but admittedly not a natural wine enthusiast. Still able to sip on a Bordeaux at reasonable price. Our server Isabelle was delightful and knowledgeable with the menu and the wine list. She paced our dishes pretty well. And was eagerly allowed us to have small sips of the wines by the glass to find our likings. A bit loud sitting under the speaker. Would have preferred a little more chill vibe but the millennials didn’t seem to mind. Will be back for another try soon!

Quality of food was excellent. Chicken wings and their sauce were outstanding. Main steak dish also outstanding. Overall the sauces were the best. And service was fantastic - our water bottle was continually refilled and our waitress made great recommendations. Disappointing that they don’t have a liquor license for cocktails. The wine list has a good variety but the wine is very very expensive. Food is also expensive and the main dishes don’t come with any extras, everything is additional cost. When the restaurant was full, the noise level was uncomfortable for having a conversation at our table. As it started to empty out, the noise was much more manageable. Would love to go back for the food alone, but the prices are just too high to make it a regular spot. :(

Really great small restaurant. Convenient location. Ambiance is fabulous. And the food - just wow! We had the tuna crudo, ceviche. Mushroom toast, heirloom carrots and Caesar salad. All of it was amazing. We enjoyed glasses of Vino Figura "Fig 5" Sauvignon Blanc from Valle de Guadalupe Mexico - an incredibly delicious wine.

We absolutely loved this place. It is just the vibe I was looking for. The food is incredible. We all had the sea bass which was literally the best I have ever had. We did not try any of the appetizers except the homemade bread which was amazing and the caesar salad. We will be back soon to try all the amazing appetizers.

it's a cozy, low-lit, "chill" vibe with rustic wood tables. had a delicious Tuna crudo to start, as well as a bowl of a traditional French Onion soup. then followed with the skin-on, moist, California Seabass and the mint accented Lamb Chops; plus a side of broccolini. also had a couple of tasty NA "mezcal" negronis. they have a tight, eclectic wine list, but I brought a bottle of wine, and was charged a reasonble $25 corkage fee. Service was friendly and prompt; with all questions answered with a smile. Thanks to Issabella and chef Seth for great service and a great meal! a final note: they serve until 10 PM, which means we were able to feel comfortable making a reservation for/arriving for dinner at 8:45 and were happy to see 3 other tables there enjoying themselves as well.
