While pizza and pasta are just the tip of the Italian iceberg, there is a reason these two culinary staples are the most beloved exports from Italy. Enjoy our seasonal selection just steps away from where our expert pasta chefs and dough-slinging pizzaioli (pizza makers) create dishes before your eyes.

Unbelievably rushed experience. Forced us to order appetizers with dinner despite being ready. The. They rushed the entree onto the table while we were still eating the appetizer. And then rushed us thru that. And top it off its ridiculously expensive. Food is decent but way way way overpriced for the experience of being rushed.

Food was ok, but service and attitude of staff was awful. Very disappointing since we’ve eaten at other Eataly locations (NYC and Boston). This location doesn’t compare. It’s more of an upscale food court experience vs a fine dining experience. We were not offered a dessert menu or asked if we wanted dessert or coffee, just handed the check after the main course. When we asked why one of our entrees didn’t match the description on the menu we were told that it is not how it is prepared at THIS location. When we asked why that wasn’t explained to us when we placed our order, our waitress (Zeniyah) told us that “most people would ask”- ummm … how were we supposed to know that it wouldn’t match the menu’s description? Just very rude and bad attitude from most staff.

Food - the pizza, calamari and wine were good. The pasta was very good, but very over-priced at $29 for a very small serving. The real issue - We came for dinner with a $75 gift card that had been given to us. The gift card gave instructions on how to make an online purchase but also on booking a table. We asked the hosts prior to being seated if we could use the gift card and both hosts said 'absolutely'. After dinner, we presented the gift card, and the manager came over to say 'unfortunately, we aren't set up to accept these yet'. When we said the hosts had assured us we could, he asked if we had shown them the gift card! Why would we? They didn't ask to see it. Why would he try to make it our fault that "they aren't set up to accept these yet". The manager ruined a perfectly good night out and we are out $75. I informed the manager that it was an unacceptable resolution, to which he had no response. That lack of customer support is never expected when a party of 2 spends $135 on dinner. Additionally, the woman at the table next to us had an issue with her order and left without eating. Not sure we'd ever return. but unfortunately, do need to use that gift card!

Food was mid and not a good value for what it was. Service was slow and inattentive. Had to track people down to ask for more water, order a beer and ask for grated cheese while pasta was getting cold. Will not return.

Service takes too long, a bit disorganized. Calzone came burnt and flat. We were offered another one, which looked better. Also ordered pasta that tasted good. Overall service needs to improve. Food quality also under other Eataly units standards

Our waitress was exceptional. They were experiencing a problem with the kitchen and the food was delayed coming out for everyone. She managed that well and communicated well. The atmosphere seemed tensed and chaotic due to the kitchen delays. You can tell the wait staff was frustrated. As far as the food, the appetizers were delicious. Our entrees were presented well but bland. The kids menu is limited to pizza or penne, although you can order the pizza in 3 different shapes. We will definitely give it another chance.

Extremely disappointed. I've eaten at Eataly in Manhattan. There is a world of difference between that experience and the Eataly at Short Hills Mall experience. The menu is very limited and incredibly ordinary. And consisted primarily of pasta dishes and "gourmet" pizzas. Food quality was nothing beyond what you would find at the Olive Garden. However, the price per entree was certainly more expensive than the Olive Garden. We were two adults. Our dining experience consisted of mineral water, two cocktails, two appetizers, two pasta entrees, two desserts and two double expressos with Sambuca. The final bill was in excess of $250. Far too expensive for the quality of the food, the lack of ambiance and middling service. We waited over 40 minutes for our entree. So long that the maitre de came over to apologize. With regard to the ambiance, or lack of same. The dining experience was again no better than you would find at an Olive Garden.

I love Eataly and I recognize that this is a new restaurant. I think that they need to do a better job at training their staff. The tables are VERY close together, so the servers are trying not to speak loudly because it could interfere with another table and therefore it is hard for them to get the order right. Additionally, I encourage all of the wait staff to use something to write down the items. Lastly, if someone orders pizza and another pasta, they need to do a better job with timing the pizza with the menu food. We waited an additional 15 minutes for personal pizza when the food was delivered to me rather quickly. I encourage them to put in the pizza order, wait 10 - 15 minutes then put in the other food. Also, we had to wait an additional 15 minutes because the waiter did not specify that it was a gluten free pizza. I know that Eataly is just getting its footing, but I encourage them to space out tables because my party was WAY too close to the people next to me sitting and it is nearly impossible to squeeze in to eat while others are eating. I love Eataly, and I will come back, but I know they can do better.
