   Jonathan was a great server. My family and I were celebrating a bday as well as having a holiday dinner. Everything was great and new food items were delicious, such as Sticky Korean Ribs and Spicy Calabrian Pasta.

   We have dined at earls many times. Food was okay today service was excellent, but the noise from the music was so blaring and so inappropriate. We did ask the music to be lowered a bit so at least you could have a conversation, but to no avail.

   Nothing was bad except the dirty martinis: more vermouth than vodka and not dirty at all. Server was charming. Busy Friday night, place was packed and LOUD, so conversations were shouted. The food was good, but not exceptional. Dining partners loved the tomahawk pork chop, but myself and another companion were disappointed by the peppercorn steaks. Mashed potatoes were great, broccolini was woody and not very warm. No desserts were ordered, but as we were celebrating a birthday, a small plate with a chocolate cake and a scoop of ice cream with a florentine cookie adornment were delivered. When we arrived we had also been met by a birthday card from the restaurant, as we had registered we were celebrating a birthday when we reserved our table. Nice gesture! We'll try again, outside the madness of a Friday night during the last week of holiday shopping!

   Jessika has been my server twice now. First time she served my table it was for a family members birthday and she didn’t check on our table until it was time for dessert. Service wasn’t the best (I’ve had multiple other servers at this location and you either get mediocre or no service) second time she didn’t come by to check on what we needed until dessert. By then, it seemed like she was in a rush to give us the check and was quick to check us out. Overall, date night was good but waiting 15 minutes to put in a drink order is unacceptable especially when you see your server just walking by your table without acknowledging you .

   Our server, Yllara, couldn't have been better or nicer. She anticipated all of our needs and was as efficient and diligent as we've seen. The manager, Nick, was excellent in making us feel welcomed and looking after our dining experience. We would highly recommend Earl's for excellent food, wonderful service, and comfortable setting. Go there and be happy!

   The food was very good our server Aaron was pleasant but did not show any type of energy at times didn't even act like he cared. The hostess was very good and called out some new things on the menu when sitting. You want to watch out for the 3% administrative fee which on your bill explains that it is not a tip for the server but doesn't say what it's for when I questioned it the server was not sure what it was "something for the kitchen I think" he said which I found odd they should be trained on what it is. As the manager came and explained that it was indeed a charge for the kitchen staff related to covid but did not provide any other explanation except that if I didn't want to pay it she would take it off which she did. Not sure what she meant by related to Covid except maybe because they lost money through Covid but that was 4 years ago at what point does it stop and I thought the price of the meal included paying your staff in their position including paying the people that prepare the food I know restaurants are starting to do this but I just feel that the price of the meal always included other costs and to add a percentage to the bill in addition to the cost of the meal just looks like trying to grab a little extra revenue instead they should just add a dollar or two to the menu prices I don't think people would notice as much at nicer restaurants but adding the percentage fee and then having an explanation which says what it is not instead of what it is for on it calls it out so they weren't trying to be sneaky about it but I just felt that it was not necessary. It was already a $600 bill and then they added 3%. So even though the service was underwhelming and there was a charge which was taken off the food is excellent and so were the drinks.

While I'm thrilled to hear the food quality and drinks were excellent, I'm sorry to hear Aaron wasn't able to be as personable and attentive as expected. Feedback is critical to us, and I will be sure to speak with him directly regarding his level of hospitality. Regarding the 3% admin fee, This did start during COVID-19, as several restaurants within Boston opted in to ensure our kitchen staff could be paid accordingly. Since then, wages have become even more competitive, and we continue to use the fee to ensure our people are taken care of. Regardless, we can remove it anytime someone requests it to be removed. Thank you again for your visit and the feedback you've provided.
