The Dream Cafe has been a Dallas staple since 1988, when first opened the original location in Uptown. In 2016, we brought the Dream Café concept to the Lakewood community and continues to serve the East Dallas area. Long before health food was hip, we have been offering wholesome, organic global cuisine since day one. In fact, the Dream has it all, from guilty pleasures like our savory Mystic Pasta and Chicken and Waffles to a Garden Stir-fry and House made Honey-Nut Granola. We continue to care about what goes on our menu and strive to maintain high quality standards by using locally sourced ingredients, hormone free meats and organic legumes, grains and produce. You can grab a seat at our full bar, open air dining room, or just relax on our covered patio.

Great place for lunch. There were 11 of us and the food was reasonably priced and very tasty. Loved the Routh Street sandwich!

We made this reservation for Xmas eve because it’s just down the street from our church but unfortunately dream cafe was closed and failed to update their reservation system. I swore this restaurant off a few years ago after finding mold in my popover and a black hair in my taco (all in the same meal) but my kids convinced me to give it another try. This experience just cemented that I never want to go back.

The food was not very good, there was a problem with the fly's and having to swat them away while eating was not comfortable. I was very disappointed in the service, food, and almost no one in terms of people eating was in the restaurant. It took almost an hour to get served. Not too much good to say about this meal...

Food was tasty and portions adequate. We opted for seating on the patio since we had three children with us. The patio can be uncomfortable from the heat of the summer sun. Waitress was polite and pleasant. Will return.

This is one of my favorite locations. This visit wasn’t one of the better ones. Service was fairly inattentive and the food was a bit off. The blueplate’s chicken was cold and very thickly coated with salty breading while the potatoes tasted like smashed boiled potatoes with no seasoning.

My one request would be to allow substitutions. I have company, that wants to support local venues, with dietary concerns. Other than that, I had an awesome experience!

Atmosphere was nice as were the drinks. My steak was a bit tough but the blue plate chicken my partner had was good

So many entree options. It’s always so hard to decide. Server staff is wonderful and very helpful. It’s our to go breakfast/lunch spot on our days off. Very casual and a great place to relax and eat.
