You really ought to connect with your systems and processes. I was told 24 hours before that my booking was cancelled, no reason was given, leaving me with having to find other alternatives at the last minute!

Booked Darbaar restaurant for my husband's surprise birthday dinner about a month before. But got the email on the same day of the restaurant was booked that the can't host the booking due to maintainance services. This ruined all our plans and the excitement. Really bad service. I wouldn't even think to book the place in this restaurant ever again and would not recommend to anyone.

While the website and the ability to book a table is still active, the restaurant is shut. When we arrived to the place and there was no one there it caused us great disappointment on a very special occasion.

Most of the bad reviews seem to be about the service but the service is fine compared to the food which was very disappointing. The high point was the small plates (the Punjabi samosa Chaat in particular was very pleasant. Sadly neither the chicken nor the paneer from the tandoor suggested they'd ever been anywhere near a tandoor let alone a spice pot. The low point was the absurdly priced Raan E Musallam (£28) which was basically a baked potato with a few bits of stringy lamb that tasted of nothing. The wine was fine. We were pleased to get out of the place and won't be going back!

Food was OK - starters / small plates were good but main meals nothing to shout about. The sea bass was nice. Service was appalling - there was hardly anyone in the restaurant yet it took forever to get served, gaps between courses were uncomfortable and several times we had to get up to find a waiter. And when we asked for some advice re the menu, the waiter was not particularly helpful and several times tried to suggest different / bigger things despite us insisting on wanting to try particular unusual dishes. Large restaurant was pretty empty so atmosphere distinctly lacking - maybe it would be better in the evening or later in the week (we were there for Monday lunch). We won't be going back.

The keema dish was delicious but I really wasn’t impressed with the food. It lacked flavour. But the environment and surroundings were lovely.

We had a lovely meal after being gifted a groupon voucher. We could choose between a set menu with a cocktail or a starter, main and glass of wine from the a la carte menu. Gorgeous meal with lots of flavour.

The reception staff was a delightful woman that was very accommodating and welcoming. The food was excellent as always. Unfortunately the waiter soured our whole evening. He was very negative from the start and to top it off he then gave us our bill after we finished our main meal not giving us an opportunity to look at the deserts menu. We did address this on the evening but the waiter was very unapologetic. We basically felt like we weren’t welcome. It’s such a shame as the food ambience and actual chef work so hard and are great and I wanted my friend to have a good experience. Unfortunately it soured our evening so much so that she never wants to return :-(

Awful service! Booked a table for 6 for 18:45 and initially everything seemed ok ,however, as soon as the waiter came to take our drinks order that's where it all went down hill. The waiter disappeared for 20 minutes and then reappeared with only 3 drinks. Finally after another 15 minutes we all had our drinks and were ready to order. We were told 2 out of the 4 fried breads for the starters were out of stock, it was only 19:00 and there were only 4 other parties there! We were also told the raita may be out of stock as well! We finally placed our order and as the waiter read our order back we realised he had missed a few dishes. He promptly added them and went off. Another waiter came over and we asked if the flat bread was available and he said yes and said he would ensure if came with our starters. 20:00 the starters finally came, painfully slowly one dish followed every 10 to 15 minutes! No flat bread or raita ever showed up. 21:00 no sign of our mains and no sign of additional drinks we had ordered until we complained. The mains turned up at 21:20 a full 2hours 20 mins later! The waiter failed to clear the table and we had to tell him to take the starter cutlery away before serving the mains. 22:15 we asked for the bill and were left waiting for 20 minutes and only after threatening to leave we were given the bill! Severe lack of staff and service. We were informed the main waiter had gone back home and the 3 waiter there were new. Food was mediocre and not worth the money, chef was walking around and not actually addressing the severe lack of staff or dinners waiting for their food. Would not recommend at all.
