Food was amazing but the drinks pairing didn’t make sense to us and majority of the drinks was not very good. We would recommend picking drinks separately. Also it’s outdoor seating so dress accordingly. Finally watch out for candles. The look beautiful on the table but the leak down through and candle wax was all over my boyfriend’s pants. The restaurant just shrugged

Great vibe and fantastic food. Their bar is Beautiful as well. It’s chefs menu so no ala carte but we loved every dish. Unique, local ingredients and just phenomenal.

Nosotros tuvimos la oportunidad de sentarnos en la mesa del chef en lo cual nos atendieron de lo más bien. La experiencia de ver al equipo y al chef hacer su magia en la cocina estuvo phenomenal. El chef nos explicó cada terminó y el amor a cada uno de su plato elevó nuestra experiencia. Gracias que para mi y mi hermano fue maravilloso.

Criollo fue una experiencia increible. La comida, la servicia, las bebidas, todo fue fantastico. Vamos a regresar cada vez que estamos en Oaxaca. Criollo was an INCREDIBLE experience. The food, service, and drink pairings were all fantastic. We will be going back every time we're in Oaxaca!

Given the hype I was expecting more from this restaurant. They offer a 6-course tasting menu which was good but only two of the courses were really special. We chose the drink pairings which were ok but we did not find any particular relation to the food and they were not explained. The service was a bit patchy; our waiter forgot which course we were on so tried to bring us the same one twice, and the drinks were not coordinated with the food. The ambiance is delightful. Overall I would not rush back as there are far better options in the center of the city; this one is peripheral and you need to take a taxi to/from.
