From the OpenTable editors: Chef Michael Stoltzfus showcases local ingredients at his swanky Southern bistro, nominated for numerous James Beard Awards since opening in 2008. In a two-story residence in the Garden District that dates back to the 1880s, the elegant dining rooms are lined with brick and chandeliers. The food was good but a bit over-priced. The main concern is service. We used to go to Coquette very often since we live nearby. We had not gone since Covid. This time, the service for the main course took an hour from the time we finished our first course/appetizers. It is probably a problem with the kitchen, although our waiter was clearly avoiding us because it seemed like there was no prospect that the food would be coming out. Eventually a floating service member came by and apologized and then gave us four glasses of wine. Both of these were nice gestures, but they are either terribly understaffed on the service side or in the kitchen itself. We did not stay for desert since it was well after 9:00 pm by the time we finished dinner and we sat down for our reservation at 6:00 pm. We will try again in a few months to see if they have gotten their act together. If they don't they are going to lose a lot of local business (including ours).

Excellent food. Service was ok. Very loud room. The bar manager was very gracious giving us free drinks because we had to wait.

Everything was good - Everything! We had the Oysters, Crab Claws, Apple Salad, Boudin & Grits, Flounder, and Carrot Cake. Highly recommend!
