   The food was delightful. Don't expect your typical Mexican restaurant --the focus on Oaxacan food is really special. Servers were very attentive. We enjoyed our meal greatly.

   Highly recommend Cocina De Barrio! The service was excellent and everything we ordered was amazing. Overall large portions and plenty of plant based / vegan options.

   Unassuming from the street when you walk in the restaurant is very vibrant. Great cocktails. Diverse menu options. The birria tacos were delicious. The corn side that came with the salmon was incredible. Memelitas were big and flavorful

   Honestly wasn’t a huge fan of the food. Maybe it was just an off day? The beans and rice were undercooked and everything tasted sort of bland. We got the short rib mole, meletas and molcajete salsa. The mole just tasted like bitter peppers. Meat was cooked well though. Service wise I felt a little rushed and like we weren’t welcomed.

   Amazing food and service. Margaritas were mostly ice so next time ask for light ice

   Yummy food. Expensive though, so prepare for an expensive night out. Noise level is very loud inside- for some reason I found it hard to hear my family at the table.

   Our server was terrific! Friendly, engaging, offering suggestions to our liking, checked back in regularly but not too much. Manager was terrific as well. Swinging by to see if everything was to our liking.

   It’s important to know that it’s Oaxacan cuisine. It’s different from SoCal traditional Mexican food (which I also love). Everything was excellent and yummy! I had the Agua Santa cocktail- OMG! I ate the tacos de birria - you could choose lamb or beef- and I chose the beef. So flavorful on blue corn tortillas and the beef melted in my mouth! You have to get the table side guacamole made to your liking in front of you! My husband and friends got different moles - all outstanding! We all were getting full and couldn’t stop eating! Even the “smashed” black beans were amazing! Can’t wait to come back! Cool, artsy decor, the owner stops by to check on you - this place has it ALL!
