From the OpenTable editors: Located in the same Santa Monica building as his fine-dining restaurant Mélisse, one-MICHELIN-Starred Citrin is the namesake project from chef Josiah Citrin.     First time visiting for my wife and I and it was a treat! We started at the bar for a drink and ended up sitting there for our dinner. Food was amazing, service impeccable and a great atmosphere. One of the Managers even brought us a sample of the Duck Brioche with a very special reduction made from pressed Duck. Wow!!! Certainly lived up to the Michelin Star rating! Highly recommended!!

    What a proper gem here in Santa Monica. Definitely deserves it's Michelin star. I couldn't be more pleased with every aspect of the evening. The staff were just exceptional, every plate was wonderful, the ambiance and decor music choice cleanliness just perfect across the board top notch. And polite civilized upscale clientele. I tried just about everything on the happy hour menu and had souffle for dessert. Very much looking forward to returning and continuing to explore the menu

    Citrin met all expectations for a 1 star restaurant. Excellent food. Interesting menu. Cool ambience. The server was sat 4 tables all at once which slowed down our attention quite a bit. We waited 15 min for drinks as an example. The server was also not very friendly.. a bit snooty.

    Wonderful execution on all aspects: ingredients, preparation and plating. Likewise for the cocktails we tried. Attentive staff always ready with information or a suggestion, but not 'oversharing'.

    Food is mediocre. Pasta portions are extremely small 2-3 bites maximum. Overpriced and underwhelming restaurant Definitely not a Michelin star experience LA has many restaurants that have better tasting food.

    What is so great about the food is that it is orepared meticulously with lush combos of taste. Duck ragout is always great and had the pumpkin soup which was off the charts. The beef is exceptional and cooked to perfection. And you better not leave before you have the souffles - perfectly cooked, just the right amount of sweet and the texture is not too liquid.
