   Our serving gal was the sweetest person! One of our party was delayed but she never pressured us. We enjoyed the price fix menu. The selection is amazing. The portions are a very good size. We were all able to sample each other’s choices. I am a long time fan of the Chou Chou at Forest Hills in SF so am incredibly pleased they opened one in the Peninsula.

   I really want to give this place a positive review - only posting so that improvements can be made! The ambiance was super lovely for restaurant week; a quiet, elegant place to have dinner with my family. Our server was very sweet and attentive to my food allergy. That said, they were clearly understaffed for restaurant week. Our three course dinner took three hours - luckily we have a lot to talk about! The meal was uneven, especially seasoning. Some things were really salty and others lacked flavor. Everything was fine and worth the value ($75 for three courses and wine). Nothing was remarkable in a good way. I would try this place for lunch but likely won’t return for dinner.

   So happy to have this place in Burlingame. We have been going to the one in SF for years. Always good food and friendly service.

   We had a very nice experience at Chou Chou on a Friday night. Wait staff was attentive, friendly and very appreciative of our business. Nice vibe in the restaurant. We had the fixe prix meal and enjoyed the escargot (exceptional flavors), mussels (my husband liked the chorizo choice and the sauce), beef bourguignon. To try to eat healthy I had the grilled fish platter with tuna, prawns and tilapia. I thought the fish was too plainly prepared, but the delicious risotto with pieces of butternut squash that came on the same plate made up for it. They generously gave me a creme brûlée at no charge for my birthday.

   Ben, our waiter. was the so kind, friendly, and helpful. The food was delicious and the prices were reasonable. They even gave us a complimentary dessert for my wife's birthday.

   We had a terrific supper at Chouchou. Dinner options are varied and impressive, delicious, and the servings are generous. Chouchou offers a prix fixe menu which is a pretty good deal - but make sure you're hungry as the servings are quite large. Another plus: Chouchou is a place to dress up. It offers a beautiful, contemporary environment in the building that used to house Stella Alpina before it moved to Burlingame Avenue. My only quibble: the lighting is a tad bright; I believe the atmosphere could be enhanced and made more romantic with a quieter lighting. Otherwise, Chouchou offers a spectacular experience and is a welcome addition to the peninsula.
