   We were celebrating Linda's birthday. She always orders cinnamon rolls. T,he restaurant was out of cinnamon rolls, so she ordered eggs benedict. The english muffins were hard and black around the edges. She was very unhappy with her brunch. Everyone else's brunch was ok. The potatoes did not taste normal as if they had a strange spice on them.

   We celebrated my mom’s birthday there last night. I used to go to Chart House a lot, but it was my mom’s first time. I wanted her to have a great birthday dinner. The hostesses were nice and welcoming, but they seated us downstairs with barely any view, right next to another noisy birthday group. It was very loud. We ordered drinks that were supposed to be prepared tableside, but the waiter made them behind us instead, so we couldn’t see anything. His torch wasn’t working, and he looked annoyed and unorganized. The steak tasted like it had been frozen and reheated in a microwave. The kimchi calamari wasn’t good, the tuna slides were good. The waiter never checked on us after bringing the food. overall it’s overpriced for the quality of food and service offered.

   The Chart House is the elite of restaurants in Portland. Serving quality dinners, excellent drink menu and good table service. The ambiance is amazing giving the ability to overlook the city. Next visit I would like to try daytime in order to see more as the evening view shows only city lights. Valet service is greatly appreciated!!

   Josh, our server, was a true pro. We enjoyed our food though it took some time before it arrived. Perhaps it was super busy. Long time since last visit; would definitely go again for special occasion.

   We shared the mango, shrimp and avocado appetizer. Then I had lobster bisque and my companion has the spinach salad. Food was delicious and nicely presented. Our server was friendly and efficient.

   Very expensive and extremely slow service. The noise level was so loud my watch alerted me to the sound level.
