   Excellent food for both Mahi and Swordfish. Service was attentive, but not invasive. Ocean views were relaxing and peaceful.

   Booked a table for 4 to celebrate a birthday at Chart House in Cardiff/Encinitas. Specifically requested a table near the windows and that it was a birthday celebration. We arrived just a few minutes prior to our reservation time even though we were delayed due to the crush of vehicles coming into the valet parking. We still had to wait about 10 minutes to be seated and were given a table just outside the main dining area adjacent to a prep area used by wait staff. We were advised that the restaurant was fully booked and that preferential seating may be offered to Landry Restaurant club members. A membership was suggested. The waitress did a great job trying to accommodate us despite the situation, but there was quite a long wait for drinks, and subsequently, for the food. I will say the quality of the food was excellent overall, but could be more generous considering the cost of nearly $100. per person with tip. Main courses should be offered with a side dish at a minimum for the prices charged. The outdoor ambiance at sunset was wonderful, but the overall experience felt like a struggle. the desert options were limited and no complimentary desert was offered for the person celebrating their birthday, never mind for the table. The server never made any offer or suggestions regarding desert. A definite downside was the restroom. For a capacity of 200-300, there was a single stall and a single urinal in the men's room. The lock on the stall was inoperable and the floor and toilet were filthy. Its not what you expect as part of a premium dining experience. Overall, the night was just OK, with the food being the only standout, when it finally arrived.

   The service, the location and the food were really first class. We enjoyed everything about it.

   The food was horrible, we ordered filet mignon asked for medium and it came well done, sent it back and the second round came back again well done. The baked potato was cold, sent that back and it came back semi warm. The server was great, felt bad for her cuz she knew the food was horrible. Only good was the free mud pie for my bday!! Even the bread was horrible! What happened to the good ole chart house!

   Both happy hour and dinner in the dining room were enjoyable experiences. Along with the beautiful views and great food, we had exceptional service. Had not been to The Chart House in a long time - will return soon.

   Very much enjoyed sitting by the window, the ambiance is very appealing. Restaurant and bar was not very busy, service was below what we expected. Our server was extremely nice but failed serve wine with the meal, he apologized but I felt he should have comped the wine due to the fact food and wine were not paired together. Wonderful place but clearly could use extra servers.

   Food service in the bar/lounge area for happy hour was very slow, even on a Monday at 5pm. Food and service when we were seated was good View was amazing, food was very good
