Focusing predominately on fresh local seafood with a French, Lowcountry flare, Charlie’s is the place for good food, good wine and unforgettable memories all enjoyed in a quaint French country atmosphere.

A Savannah native, Charlie Golson’s interest in the French language and culture took him to Paris. After a long stint in the fast paced hotel kitchens of Washington DC, he was ready to move back closer to home. It was at that time he was able to open up a one room French bistro. The restaurant has grown over the years, but the ‘Green Star’ remains steadfast in offering the finest ingredients the Low country has to offer with a menu that is hand written daily. Resort Casual.

A Monday evening dinner at Charlie’s never (ever) disappoints. The service was perfect- attentive but not intrusive. The tuna and the mahi were cooked perfectly. They barely beat out the incredible scalloped potatoes. The flan was silky and rich. And the meal was accompanied by a lovely CA Chardonnay.

We always bring our friends from out of town to Charlie’s. Another exceptional evening. Loved it. Margaret’s wine pairing was perfect and worked well with four different entrees. Letitia was very attentive and helped us through our selections. We love Charlie’s and can count on a fabulous experience

Our Absolute “Go To” restaurant on the island! Everything about Charlie’s is fantastic. The menu entrees are changed daily depending on availability of their fish options. We have had many of the appetizers but generally go back to their escargot. You will always have a great entree and the Pave’ Chocolat for dessert is a must try. Highly Recommended!!!

Charlie’s never disappoints. It’s our favorite place for a date night. Prices are reasonable and you can buy an inexpensive glass of wine or an expensive bottle. Atmosphere is calm, comfortable, and intimate. Staff is always super friendly and attentive.

Was just ok… if it’s cold you will need to dress warm if you are seated on the porch. Based on the number of folks who were present and waiting, this is a premier place. Maybe we just had a dud dish of fish.

Being a restaurant owner myself this my go to place to eat!! Jeff and Anthony are the best and always provide not only excellent service but an experience. Could type for hours about Charlies and their entire staff. Bottom line great people added to excellent food equals unbelievable experience.

Charlie's has the best food on the island, and never disappoints! We sat outside on a cool evening, and it was lovely and quiet. They provided blankets and a heating lamp at each table. Anthony was a great server and very friendly. I had the redfish, my wife had monkfish. Excellent!
