Indulge your inner child and adventure into the magical, mouth-watering world of Charlie and the Chocolate Factory with our enchanting afternoon tea, that has had a dazzling makeover.

Fizzy lifting drinks, snozzberry jam, chocolate swudge milkshake mixed by waterfall –all tantalisingly tremendous items inspired by Roald Dahl’s iconic story.

In the heart of London’s theatreland, you can find a wonderful taste of Willy Wonka’s factory. Feast on scrumptious savouries such as our not-quite-as-it-seems macaron and classic Coronation chicken. Journey on for fabulously fluffy floss and a box stacked high with wondrous cakes, sweets, mallows and creams. If you find this thirsty work, wash it down with chocolate or lemon sherbet tea, Juicing Room mix, water pistol punch cocktails, or fizzy lifting Champagne - spot on for spectacular special occasions or simply an indulgent afternoon immersed in one of the tastiest tales ever told.

This was our first trip to London as a family. We were lucky enough to have a 10 day vacation planned and got to experience so much of London. The one afternoon English tea that I booked for my 11 year old daughter and myself was this one! We had a 3 o’clock seating which allowed us to enjoy our morning and early afternoon and then use this experience as our lunch and dinner! The hotel is gorgeous and the little touches from the Roald Dahl themed Charlie and the chocolate factory were modern and well done. It was an extraordinary amount of tea and hot beverages for children as well as ‘mocktails’ for kids and so many options of food and scones and treats! The highlights were definitely the delicious scones and the candy floss. My daughter said the highlight for her was how “very nice [they] were to her and to kids”. Our server, Masum, was so very attentive and accommodating and wonderful. He added so much to our fabulous experience! This is a wonderful and unique afternoon tea experience especially with school aged children. It was such a highlight of the trip for us!!!!

We heard so much about this amazing afternoon tea, so of course we booked it. Sadly, it wasn't that great. The space looks like a cafeteria, but with some plastic bubbles. The service is over the top, which most people will really enjoy. The table settings are OK. The teas offered are not bad. The food is... not worth the price, especially with that decor and that tea set. In short, this would have been absolutely fine for £30 but for £70 I expected at least one thing to be excellent, and nothing was even remotely close to excellency.

This was disappointing. There is no chocolate waterfall mixing your hot chocolate, no Oompa Loompas, no Willy wonka, nothing but a basement restaurant and waiters doing their best to make the experience seem more than a few nibbles and candy floss on a stick. There is such potential here, we were sorely disappointed in our experience considering the cost (£138 with service for 1 adult & 1 child).

A wonderful selection of sweet and savoury delights, beautifully presented! Our coeliac diner was carefully considered, and the vegetarian menu was equally as appetizing as the standard courses. The choice of teas was broad and served in generously sized teapots. Our waiter was friendly, knowledgeable and attentive. Perhaps slightly on the pricey side, but this is afternoon tea in London so not unexpected! Definitely worth a visit and suitable for the young at heart of all ages!

Very disappointed with this It was my best friends birthday and i decided to treat her as we both are obsessed with afternoon tea The service was incredibly slow and it wasn’t even busy Had to ask for milk 3 times by which point our 1st pot of tea had gone cold, our 2nd pot of tea i had to ask twice for and it ended up coming as we got our cakes (i had asked for it before the scones) Wasnt overly impressed with the cakes, a lot of bitter chocolate and coffee- not a fan but that was my opinion Not the kind of service id expect from a well known london venue

The only resemblance to Charlie and the Chocolate Factory was when you entered and there was a couple of artefacts from the film, once downstairs you could of been anywhere in London having afternoon tea, once again there was only candy floss and chocolate milk that did say it was Charlie and the chocolate factory. There was no costumes or music from the film and when asked about it, we were told it was to do with copyright? If that was the case then they shouldn’t be advertising the afternoon tea as Charlie and the Chocolate Factory. Extremely disappointed and will not be recommending.
