The Charcoal Steak House is an independent local steakhouse serving the Waterloo region community for over 65 years. Enjoy AAA Steaks, richly marbled wagyu, slow roasted prime rib, fresh seafood, mouth-watering pig tails, legendary smoked ribs and more. At lunch we feature an extensive menu with burgers, sandwiches, bowls and healthy salad choices.

Sundays are made for Brunch from 9:00am - 1:00pm.

Our Martinis Bar with summer patio offers the full Steak House menu or light meals in a more casual setting. Enjoy appetizers, a full meal, 20 beers on tap and beautiful outdoor seating area in summer.

    Ambience was great however the food was not that great. Steak was very chewy and mash potato’s were not creamy at all. The food was not the worst but for the price it is not a great choice. The peanut butter cake was too peanut butter tasting that I could not finish it. I love peanut butter and I disliked it. The crème brule had too much burnt sugar on the top that was mossy of the dessert than the actual custard.

    Our server Stella was terrific. The food was excellent as usual. Highly recommend Charcoal Steakhouse to any visitors in the area. We have been going there on special occasions for almost 50 years. Their Brie appetizer is to die for. The steaks and pigtails always a favorite.
