Cattlemens is a an American steak house and grill. The dining room is designed like an Old West-style saloon. Everything about the decor is an homage to cowboys, gold rush towns and cooking over a campfire. Each night there is a different menu item on special, whether it is the slow-cooked prime rib, 20-ounce T-bone or surf n' turf 8-ounce sirloin and jumbo shrimp combo. Steaks are king at Cattlemens, with several cuts of meat and different seasoning options. In addition to these hearty cuts of beef, there are several rib options guaranteed to fill up even the hungriest diner. These include a rack of baby back pork ribs, classic dry-rub beef ribs or an herb-crusted rack of lamb. The bar menu, or saloon menu as its known at Cattlemens, has several fine spirits, craft cocktails and cold draft beer.

Fun Fort Worth dining experience. Lunch menu into mid afternoon is an especially good value.

All shortcomings of this review hinged on the attitude and choices of the hostess. It continued to affect our entire experience. We got there 20 minutes before our reservation because there was a crowd and we had to park several blocks away. Whe we walked in the door we were not greeted. We were told they did open until 12:00 pm and we had to leave. I have trouble walking and there was nowhere to stand on the street, so we tried to explain, but Texas hospitality was replaced by something just short of hostility. We walked 2 blocks to find somewhere to rest and wait. When I returned at 11:58, I was surprised to see several tables seated to my left in back of the first area and 2 couples waiting inside the door. Apparently the “closed until 12:00” had been lifted. After the couples were seated in another room, there was no smile or greeting, simply flatly requested my name. The reservation was for my boyfriend’s 70th birthday and we had come from central Illinois to eat here because he had remembered it when he was here before. He enjoyed it so eating here was on our list for this trip to Arlington. Reading my notes, she decides the best table for us was right next to the door on the main walkway to and from the other much nicer space. I really believe we should have gotten a discount since I greeted nearly everyone who walked through to the other area and the staff delivering food to our section. It was quite disappointing. Most of this first space was empty and I saw there were only a few people sitting in the nicer area. Our waitress was sweet. She made a bad situation better but we were reminded of the poor behavior of the hostess every time someone, staff or guest, walked past. I wonder why we were singled out to be treated this way. The food was good the server was great. Just a bad experience.

Everything was tasty - drinks, tortilla soup, ribeye, shirt ribs. Loaded potatoes were decadent, broccoli rabe perfectly cooked and spiced. Bread basket mixed herb biscuits, scones and to-die-for cornbread muffins. From the first step thru the door all staff were both polite & friendly. Our server Debbie proved knowledgeable, professional and appropriately attentive as did all her support team. Not an inexpensive date but can’t complain! Reservations fill quickly so book early!

atmosphere was more pizza joint than an old school steakhouse. Filet was alright, catfish very average, and the chicken fried steak was just ok. Worst gravy and mashed potatoes that I've ever had. Would not recommend this place for a Stockyard experience.

Ordered a $65 bone in ribeye. What I received was an abomination of a steak, didn't even resembled a ribeye. I asked for them to take it back and bring me a porterhouse instead. 20 minutes later they brought the original steak i rejected back to me and telling me I now have to pay for both the ribeye and porterhouse. Manager was unreasonable and staff inexperienced. Had tobgo chase the manager down to discuss this. He was notably upset with jis staff telling them next time they will pay for it. In the end I ate a porterhouse and was charged for a ribeye. Way after everyone had finished eating in my table. Terrible experience probably because they bank on tourists and not returning customers.

I didn't realize Cattlemen's was under renovations when I booked - but that's okay! It kind of diminished the experience just a tad, but we had a really great time. The whole restaurant was lively. Our waitress Debbie was every bit of 5 stars - she checked in on us constantly, made sure we had everything we needed, and made solid recommendations off the menu. Two center-cut filets, some salads, baked/mashed potatoes, and a few drinks... we were stuffed! I love trying new places when we travel so we don't often repeat, but I wouldn't hesitate to eat here again- especially to see how the renovations turn out.

The ambiance of the original Cattlemen’s is missed with the modern renovation.

We loved our meals and couldn’t say enough about the staff and attention to our table of 6. We celebrated a friends birthday and were pleasantly surprised by bread pudding with whiskey for the bday cake. Delicious. My KC strip as advertised was memorable. Will be back
