   Catch French Bistro really made sure we understood how un-special and cattle like a restaurant can make guests feel on a busy night like Valentine’s Day. The hostess seemed entirely clued out on how to search a name, repeatedly telling me I didn’t have a reservation. Eventually I showed her my booking, and she gave me a table (OpenTable later contacted me asking why I wasn’t seated, so obviously she still never bothered). The tables were all practically elbow to elbow, so it was hardly romantic. Every word uttered by the neighboring tables was clearly overheard. We felt crowded in, as though they added more tables just to squeeze more money out of people on a high demand evening. I understand that it’s a busy night, but service was glacial, both in terms of speed and unfriendliness. It took about 45 minutes to get a glass of wine, all of which was overpriced and not very good. The dinner was an $80 prix fixe, and it was an absolute cash grab. The food quality was barely culinary school level, nothing was fresh tasting, and at $80 for three courses I’d expect something better than what we got. Maybe the place is better the rest of the year, but we were sorely disappointed, and it definitely turned a special night into a bit of a drag.

   This was my first time visiting since the change in ownership. I was not disappointed. Wonderful service and exquisite food. I look forward to another visit and experiencing the live music (I was there beforehand as I was going to a show).

   Have had dinner here a couple times. Both good. Met a friend today for lunch/brunch. Service was great. Food was good. Eggs were poached to perfection and loved the croissant switch out from English muffin. Only negative is the hollandaise on the Benedict wasn't very flavorful; maybe a bit more lemon would help? Would return for brunch again!

   I've been a customer for more than 2 decades -- originally Catch, now Catch French Bistro. I've always loved the place and now, the food is substantially better under new ownership. Very nice dining experience at fair prices in a neighborhood with few decent options and the service is excellent. I'll keep coming back.
