   We decided to try this restaurant during DineLA week, and overall, I’d rate the experience a 3/5. Ambiance & Arrival The hostess area feels more like a hotel lobby—nice and clean but lacking seating. It was very cold and windy, yet the doors were propped wide open. We saw multiple guests visibly uncomfortable, but the staff didn’t seem to care. We arrived at 7:20 for a 7:30 reservation and weren’t seated until 7:45. Not ideal. It was somewhat busy, but with a reservation, they should have been more on top of it. First Impressions One big eyesore in the lobby was the glass ball light fixtures separating the bar area. From a distance, they looked fine, but up close, most were broken, electrical-taped together, or missing bulbs. Since we had to stand near them (due to the lack of seating), it was hard to ignore. Other than that, the restaurant itself looked great. The ambiance was nice, though the dining area was also cold—likely because the table behind us had their window open. It was the only open window in the entire restaurant. Still, it was uncomfortable. Service – The Dealbreaker Here’s where things went downhill. As soon as we mentioned we were there for DineLA, the service changed entirely. At first, everything was smooth—quick greeting, drinks ordered promptly, all good. But the moment we asked for the DineLA menu, the server became noticeably less attentive. •We received our first two courses before our drinks even arrived. •I had to remind the server that we ordered drinks—when they finally arrived, my beer was warm. •We would have ordered more drinks, but considering it took 40 minutes to get the first round? No thanks. I don’t understand why a restaurant would participate in DineLA if they’re going to treat those guests as second-class. The whole point is to attract new customers and make them want to return. We won’t be coming back. Slow, inattentive service is a dealbreaker.

   #DineLA menu was excellent! Crab Cake appetizer was packed with crab & shrimp! Main Course Dry Aged Ribeye & Wild Mushroom Pappradelle Pasta is heaven on a plate. Our amazing waitress & singer song writer Anna recommended it an all the other items we selected. She was incredible! And the Chocolate lava desert didn't disappoint! Atmosphere was great! Could view all of Burbank and the San Fernando Valley from just about any seat in the restaurant! Highly recommended! You won't regret it!

   I’ve been once before and was excited to go back! My friends and I went for DineLA. They had a great deal for a 3 course dinner ($65pp). The food was tasty and views lovely as expected. Cons - service was slow. I don’t think they considered the extra crowd for restaurant week. Before being seated my girl and I waited at the bar to get drinks FOREVER. There was only one bartender for the house and we had several wait staff pass us without assisting. The manager finally came over after walking past a few times but by then, the bartender was available.

   Need to pay attention on all services from receptionist all the way thru the food servers. Although the view is nice but when the services not supported it will reduce the points.

   We were not seated until 45 minutes after our reservation. Front of house staff was uncommunicative (only info given each time we’d check in was “your table will be ready soon”) and no acknowledgement of what an inconvenience they were causing. When finally seated there was a leak in the roof dripping water onto 2 parts of our table so we had to move. Our server was fantastic and provided great service but overall horrible experience given we were late for the rest of our planned obligations for the day and no acknowledgement or apology from staff. Definitely won’t be back.

   Very disappointed with the service as we were repeatedly ignored by our waiter, the manager, & it took us 25 min to be seated while we had a reservation. Once seated, our waiter was very friendly. The food came out very fast and was very delicious! But, we had already finished it by the time he came around again to check in. We would put in our next drink order each time we saw him and would wait 20-30 min for him to bring it over. We believe the issue was with where we were sitting: in the corner of the restaurant near the bar. The table in front of us with more people in their party & had multiple waiters tending to them. Each time we would attempt to get their attention, they would turn away. It was only very apparent that we were being ignored when we attempted to gain the attention of the manager. On top of it all, there were multiple leaks coming from the ceiling and onto the table & when I let our waiter know, nothing happened. I have had brunch at Castaway multiple times, and I have never had an experience like this… I understand they were busy & it was raining outside, but the majority of our visit was spent waiting around and hoping to get someone’s attention. I must say that we did not complain in person because my girlfriends and I have all worked in the restaurant industry & understand how stressful it is; but for the price point, it was disappointing…

   We went to castaway for dinner during the dineLA promotion. Unfortunately, the restaurant was overwhelmed with reservations, private events, and inclement weather. My dinner reservation was at 7:15, part of my party arrive early and we were not seated until 8:05. Though the wait was excruciatingly long, the service was great and attentive, the views were phenomenal and the food was delicious.

   Seating was less than ideal. Certain seats are 6 inches away from the diners next to you, gets a little awkward. For the amount of money you are paying I feel it should be better.
