We had tasting menu with some dishes that we had selected ourselves, as the restaurant were very flexible around this. It was first class, and I will definitely return - with my family - which is the highest accolade I can pay.

An interesting concept, matching Spanish wine with "Indian tapas". The initial impression was not great. After arriving at the time stated in the emails (6.30) I was greeted warmly by Cyrus and then Pervin but then sat until after 7.30 with about 70ml of an indifferent Cava and some coloured crackers with chutney. Then the rather dry starters were served with water. The rest of the food was well flavoured (but heavily dependent on potato) and well matched with the wines. I enjoyed the Rose Kulfi and Creme Caramel. My least enjoyable evening at Café Spice. Sorry. Charming waiting Staff and Cyrus did come upstairs to chat to everyone.

Dear Penny, Thank you very much for attending our first-ever Spanish wine evening. We also appreciate your candid feedback, which we will take as a valuable learning opportunity, especially since we have never before worked with the two ladies. We noted several points ourselves, and given that you've known us for over thirty years, you know we take comments seriously. We are always striving to make improvements as we move forward. Regarding the new restaurant, it doesn't actually take much longer to reach us. It just feels that way for some reason. However, with our beautiful setting by the water and amazing views, we believe that the additional 10/15 minutes of travel is well worth it. Thank you once again for your continued faith in us and your desire for us to reach greater heights.

Had gone in for a wine tasting evening. Excellent service and courteous. Vidya, the wine consultant was at her best. Wish my knowledge about wine was as good as hers. The importer was polite and made me realise the value of organic wine and to care for such small producers. Food was great and was extremely good value for money, considering it was six courses
