I had the snapper special. It was a little overcooked and the polenta wasn't very hot. (I had substituted for the risotto). The server did a good job. The table spacing was pretty tight and the servers had to turn sideways to get between the 2 rows of tables. Also, extremely noisy. Dessert was fabulous.

Like the patron sitting next to us who lived in Paris for four years in the 60’s said “this food is old style French food”. Flavorful, simple, filling, not artsy but attractively presented. Reasonable price for the complete opposite of commercial fast restaurant food.

Cafe Malta is a gem of a neighborhood restaurant. The red snapper special they served last night was stunningly delicious. I also get the muscles most times I dine there. That broth and the tomatoes. Chef's kiss!!

We had not been back to Cafe Malta since before COVID. The printed menu has not changed but the taste of the food is bland. The wait staff are amateurs : inattentive, incorrect orders,etc.

Enjoyed the mussels and Loved the Crostini appetizers. Red Snapper was flavorful and I enjoyed the citrus taste. Also my husband had Hangar steak and said it was good and the vegetable medley was fresh and well prepared. Enjoyed the Italian wine and Lavender cream brûlée. We will definitely try again. Never disappointed - everything was delicious! Friend from out of town joined us and we loved the smoked fish pâté as a starter. Two ordered Of the short ribs and one salmon salad (salmon was perfectly crisp on outside and moist inside). Ended dinner w two flourless chocolate cakes and crème brûlée. Can't wait for our next visit!
